You just sold me on my next read. I find it amazing the conversion of atheists like CSLewis and others to turn to Christ. Especially while writing a book or seeing the world in travels. Or whatever the person is doing. Thank you for the lift on a book that strikes you in amazement about Jesus Christ. I love Jesus, for he really saved my life!!!! And I really love the Bible and all to the Glory of our God.

What do you think of the movie adaptations that have been made? If you've seen any of them

I don't think it's because America "has fallen away from Christianity." I think it's simply because it is a book written in archaic language for which there is an easy to understand film. The film hasn't reduced in popularity, has it?

Your Aunt Bonnie told me about your channel. Now I'm inspired to read Ben Hur for the first time. God bless!

I read it once in a Kindle and was amazed by it. I have also sprung for the uber-nice Easton Press edition of it. It is a masterpiece of literature!

Looking forward to reading it. The movie is great but wildly inaccurate. The Romans would not have been surprised by messianic stories as they started with the Persians and after the occupation Judaism had many predictions over the centuries. They would also not have been surprised by baptism or any theology in Christianity as it was from Greek Hellenistic religions. The 2nd century was at least half Gnosticism so there was no unified theology in the first century. Also Paul knew of no Bethlehem or any of the Gospel tales. That started later with Mark. At least according to Bart Ehrman , Carrier, z. smith, Litwa, RMiller and so on.

I have just read Ben Hur and it's extraordinary. English isn't my native language, but l read it in that language. I agree with you that this book represents Lew Wallace's own conversion to Christianity. I am not a religious person and l loved the book, nonetheless. A literary masterpiece is a literary masterpiece. Period.

Dear Sir (sorry I don't know your name), I appreciate your doing this video on the famous book. We share the view of it being neglected today, and of Wallace being quite a guy. We can learn much from his novel, his life and his conversion to Christ. One of the history stories I tell is "The Ben-Hur Saga", because more people need to hear about Wallace, his novel, and the various movies that have followed (even if they aren't true to the book). Press on. -Ken

Hey man if it's your favourite book I think I should do better at pronouncing the name of Ben Hur, it's more of Hoor, not Her. Thanks for the video

😂 I think it actually is pronounced as “Behn-Her”.

I tried to read the book. Lew Wallace is just the lousi est, most amateurish writer that I have read (of those been published). am sorry to say it, because I had great expectations. I loved the movie though -- watched it as a young teenager.
