I think most people under the age of 18 don’t really have that much of an interest in politics to care - and most would just vote the same way as their parents anyway. Hypothetically if the kids were allowed to vote on Brexit, they would have consumed the exact same arguments from both sides that everyone else did, so I don’t see it making that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things for both of those reasons.

@@lynnevenables7193 it's not an extension of his logic at all. Afghanistan's situation is internal. We drew lines and started withdrawing years ago. It's horrid. But 40+ countries that made up ISAF said "we've tried and spent enough, we're going now". The Afghan military and Police for the large part couldn't or wouldn't stand up for democracy or a united Afghanistan. Effectively it's been a coup in Afghanistan, that's been welcomed by many of its electorate. Ukraine is fighting an external oppressor that has illegally invaded, violating at least two treaties where the USA and the UK amongst others made guarantees to Ukrainian security. Particularly for giving up inherited nuclear weapons since the USSR fell apart. We have a moral obligation to support a sovereign, democratically elected Government fighting for the survival of its people. As I say, the Afghan Government was on borrowed time.

I don't think you're understanding that its not about leaving Afghanistan its the fact that we intervened so we're responsible for the people who risked their lives to protect OUR troops but we wouldn't help them even though they contribute to our economy and if they helped the military are likely also very skilled.
