I remember hearing this on the radio as a kid and being blown away by the combination of orchestral strings, drum machine, and squelchy synth bass! Loved it!
This came out in 1978!?? It sounds so good!! Just like house and techno from the 80's! You can even hear where Inner City - Big Fun got its melody from and where Madonna got the percussion idea for her Vogue track! 🤯
@@HowlingMoonCinemas It can be found here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QA4KzKfseBk.html&ab_channel=AmbrosioVerd%C3%BAGomis - it was one of two songs from the album, along with Forever Autumn by Justin Hayward, released as singles in 1978. I think Forever Autumn was edited slightly from the album track, whereas Eve Of The War was basically as heard on the main album.
I HAVE ALL BEN LIEBRAND CD MAXIS. PLUS HUNDREDS REMIXES FOR OTHERS. GREAT WORK. THANKS MAN. 1989 I HEAR THIS ON RADIO AND JUMPED LIKE CRAZY IN MY ROOM.
I had a Sony megabass with autoreverse. Once, in the early 90s, whilst I was stoned I listened to a whole side of ambient music being played backwards because the autoreverse was broken, I only realised at the end. Happy days.
I have the 7 CD collectors edition ( album, Making of DVD, ULLA-DUB remix disc and 3 discs of behind the scenes and recording sessions) as well as the original vinyl of WotW, the white box CD version that has 4 remix track and the ULLA-DUB-ULLA remix album plus this track on 12" vinyl
I have the twelve inch vinyl single copy from the record shop opening on Saturday only 12-10-25 down princes road at Southend-on-Sea resort up the road from south record shop and it is run by a man called James.
I would love to learn how to do this squelchy synth bass and to know from what synth this bass comes from... i think it's a Roland SH101! Love this song and production!
ian greenacre i picked up a copy of this for 50p about 10 years ago from a carboot sale...its in mint condition and im not sure the spotty faced seller realised what he was selling!his loss!😂
