Well we headed over to the Beautiful Isle Of Mull for 3 Days to Hike Ben More Munro then the plan was for to go to Uisken bay for a few days and a Day Trip to Iona. We ended up staying 6 days with 5 of them being glorious sunshine! and one being a lightning storm.
I have split the trip into 3 videos with Ben More being the first, then Uisken and Iona to follow.
Mull is a truly amazing island - more so if you get the weather - highly recommended getaway.
Ben More is a mountain located on the Isle of Mull, which is part of the Inner Hebrides, a group of islands off the west coast of Scotland. It is the highest mountain on the island and one of the most popular hiking destinations in the region.
Ben More stands at an elevation of 966 meters (3,169 feet) and dominates the landscape of the island. It is a steep and rugged mountain, with rocky terrain and scree slopes that can be challenging to navigate. The summit offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, including the Sound of Mull and the neighbouring islands.
The mountain is a popular destination for hikers and mountaineers, with several routes to the summit. The most direct and challenging route starts from the small village of Dhiseig and involves a steep ascent over rocky terrain. Another popular route is the A' Chioch ridge, which is longer but less steep and offers stunning views along the way.
Ben More is also home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including rare species such as the mountain hare, golden eagle, and the Scottish crossbill. The mountain is protected as part of the Ben More and Mull national scenic area, which helps to preserve its natural beauty and wildlife.
Overall, Ben More is a must-see destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers visiting the Isle of Mull. With its rugged terrain, stunning views, and diverse wildlife, it offers a truly unforgettable hiking experience.
