The pronunciation is Coyer Leash. We visited the distillery last year otherwise I wouldn't have known either

10 year us superb. Bought this one based on your recommendation. At Au$95 on Black Friday, that’s a great price for this neck of the woods. Thanks for the review.

I currently have a bottle of the 10 open and like it a lot. Bought it in the distillery when there for a 5 min visit (just travelling past it) earlier this year, so assume 2023 bottling. It is just a shame how Ben Nevis was treated in the past years, Nikka took most of the spirit and left little left for OBs. Hopefully changing now they can't use it for 'Japanese' blends anymore... I would also look for independent bottlings from Ben Nevis, there are some really good ones. I have a bottle of a Dram Mor PX finish - very good as well and although the PX influence is very noticeable, the Ben Nevis spirit can handle it (in my opinion). As for NAS bottlings - I prefer age statements as they provide a bit more information of what's in the bottle, or alternatively distillation and bottling dates. But there are amazing NAS bottlings out there, Glen Scotia Victoriana or some of the new distilleries like Lochlea to name a few that I think are great.

I would love to get up there and see the place, maybe even climb the mountain too!

From trying Ben Nevis before I was expecting big things, only to find this a little lackluster. For now will stick to my Nikka from the Barrel at similar cost per cl. Great review as always buddy!

I've had the 10 year old before and it didn't last long so must havr been good. Rumour at the time was that it had much older liquid in it so worth a go i'd say Vin.
@NoNonsenseWhisky
@NoNonsenseWhisky Год назад
That's the same as me. Great liquid gets drank so quickly here as I can't keep away from it!

Better a dark glass bottle than caramel colorant in your whisky!

I'm ... let's just say an unofficial Ben Nevis brand ambassador, so take this as you will. But the 10 is an absolute cracker! If I could get it regularly I'd drink it every day. (And I don't even drink every day.) Haven't tried the Coire Leis, in large part because I feel like Ben Nevis' spirit needs a little bit of time to develop. I tend to shy away from anything with a single digit age, stated or implied. Love the new (?) shelves, BTW! Set looks great. =)

I'm definitely on the lookout for the 10 now, of the CL is good, the 10 has to be great 🤣

@@NoNonsenseWhisky I have a 2021 10yo open, it's absolutely pitch-perfect Ben Nevis spirit. Tastes to me like a nice mix of refill and first-fill ex-bourbon casks. Enough time to let the spirit develop but still absolutely distillate-driven, which is what you want with a distillate like BN. I say go for it!

Your set is looking a bit more posh - nice! I’d recommend lowering the map over your left shoulder a wee bit so the whole thing is in view of the camera.

Why so many scofch start with "Ben"? Can understand the "Glen" but wonder why with "Ben".

I think "Ben" is Gaelic for mountain, much like "Glen" means valley

Ben Nevis...highest mountain in U.K. with top peak of 1345m asl. Its really worth to climb up in a good summer day and visit Distillery after. Nice weekend breake. 👍😁🥂🙋🏻‍♂️
