Ben Shapiro needs to quit his day job and be readily available 24/7 whenever someone needs assistance arguing with a demented SJW or feminist or White Knight. Every city should also have a Shapiro Signal (like the Bat signal) for whenever his assistance is required.
Martina Murray You've made huge generalizations in another comment thread that I won't bring up because I don't feel like embarassing you. It's stastically proven that women rack up more credit card debt and spend more on products they don't need throughout their lifetimes, whereas men have better organizational financial skills and spend less rampantly.
Wow... Don't bring statistics into this! That's hateful! Only anecdotal evidence is allowed as long as it's politically correct and demonizes straight white men.
***** I'm actually surprised the left better known as social terrorists haven't been incarcerated for completely hijacking the free thought of an entire generation. The damage is near irriversible.
Thank you! I've been saying this for so long. It's also why suicide is the biggest killer of men in the UK. Men do the hard, high skilled jobs that pay well because they are expected to run the family and pay for the expensive things. Women tend to take comfortable jobs that they actually ENJOY because the money isn't as much of a concern for them as their partner is expected to earn the big wage. Why do you think careers like hairdressing, teaching, childcare etc are female dominated? Because men can't do those jobs as we have to earn more money than what those jobs offer. All this bullshit about "We need more women in engineering and science" is a joke. There aren't as much women in engineering and science because women don't WANT to be engineers when they can easily have a cosy job or study something useless like philosophy at university and still live a lavish lifestyle because their partner earns the big wage that covers the living costs.
_Feminism_ according to feminists, "is for equality." There's already a word for that, the French invented it… In English it's *egalitarian* so why use a gender-biased word like FEMinism, which comes from the Latin " _femina_ " (for women) to describe a movement about equality? In that case why don't you use "masculinist" or some shit like that? Tell me, what rights do men have that women do not have (here in the west)? As women: we can drive, we can vote, we have a wide variety of career choices, we can run for political office, we can go to school without fear of being killed for it, we do not need to worry about our sexuality being controlled by having our clitorises cut off, we can testify in court and have our testimony be as valid as a man's, we have property rights, we can travel anywhere we want and be unaccompanied by a man, we can open accounts, we can have ID cards, we don't have to wear cumbersome clothing when we step out of our houses to hide our faces and bodies from the male gaze, we can go anywhere we want without a male's permission, we aren't stoned, flogged, caned or thrown in prison as fornicators or adulterers when we have been victims of rape while our rapists go free (which happens in an actual rape culture btw), if we want to divorce we can do so, our children don't go automatically to the father, we are favored in family court and in prison sentences in general, etc. Need I say more? Coddled, spoiled,1st world feminists spend their time whining about made up bullshit like sexist air conditioning, mansplaining/manspreading (did you know males have to sit with their legs farther apart than females because they have something called testicles?) and the mythical wage gap. This modern feminism is a joke and that's why I reject it entirely and call myself an egalitarian instead.
Feminism at its root was for equality. The movement got its name at a time when women really were oppressed and discriminated against simply based on gender so thats why it has the gender based name.
I used to enjoy watching Feminists freak out. They'd say "I'm, like, the world's biggest Feminist". I'd reply "Oh, that's awesome! I am, like, the world's biggest Masculinist!". The reactions were usually priceless. Now, I think my response with just be "Oh, that's too bad. I'm egalitarian" ... "Have a good day".
The Do Whatever I Feel Like Channel "I'm saying you can't kill innocent humans." Unless they're Muslims, Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Adolescent Americans, African, South American, Middle Eastern, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Indonesian, people who aren't white. Killing innocent people is wrong unless you fall into one of the categories I've just mentioned. USA USA USA
Get a job and move somewhere else, I'm leaning towards moving to Nashville or Australia for work after I finish my education, though Wisconsin isn't that bad with SJWs compared to some areas.
If Republicans were smart, they would make political commercials featuring people who have actually survived abortions, whose mothers were considering them for abortion, or who have specific defects for which they likely could have been aborted, and have them ask the liberals why they never address them in their political ads in support of abortion. It's always a bunch of women saying "if you aren't a woman then you shouldn't have a say because at the end of the day it's my reproductive choice", my idea would send that idea flying right back in their faces, but of course the GOP is never going to do it because they rarely adhere to common sense when it comes to campaigning.
SanQae I've seen pro-life ads of various media that feature abortion survivors, adopted children, etc. but they aren't quite what I have in mind. I guess really I shouldn't be the one to say how abortion survivors should or should not address the pro-abortion crowd, but it's always something like "I'm glad my mother chose life even though she was considering having me aborted" whereas I would just once like to see one of them stand up during one of Wendy Davis's speech's and say "why the hell can't I have an opinion on abortion when I was damn nearly aborted, just because I'm a male? Is it because I wasn't a prep like you in high school, I'm not one of the 'wanted children' that you always hung out with, so you think my life is worthless?" I'd like to see them sometimes be as confrontational about how the abortion debate relates to them as so many liberal women who never even had an abortion are about how they claim it relates to them. But again, I'm not an abortion survivor, though I am on the autism spectrum and there's a good chance that some time in the future autism will be detectable while in the womb. But hey, I'm just a conservative male, what do I know?
RepublicofEthan Agreed. On a side note, at least you have a conservative party to vote for. I have to campaign for the social-democrats so the damn labour party (i.e. socialists) won't turn my country into Venezuela. And yes, we do suffer from these two things here - only now did the right-wing (and the social-democrats) upped their game. In most countries whose politics I follow, the most left-wing parties are all over the place with their BS, while the most right-wing parties keep trying to be boy-scouts and refuse to even criticize anything
RepublicofEthan Same thing here, but half of these people don't even bother calling themselves "progressives", they just outright say they're socialists. Actually, a lot of what the left-wing parties in here say comes straight out of the DNC. You can realize that when you see them talking things that have no relationship whatsoever with our history (like talking about "segregation" or "interracial marriages" to justify their policies). To help you see how things are here: Picture the US, now make it poorer and dumber, now destroy the Republican Party, now divide the Democrats into 30 different entities and make them go from social-democrats to communists. Oh, and make even the socially conservatives statist. The right is growing here, but only slowly and topically (land rights, abortion and things lke that, but no coherent whole). The only thing we don't have is the actual implementation of the democrats social agenda (and, seems to me, at least the self-aware right-wingers learned their lessons from the US). You have no idea how much the US' politics influence international parties - the arguments almost all come from there, and we usually look at the US to try and figure out what strategies where going up against next. I hope the US doesn't become an awful place to live as well, cause "screw this I'm going to Miami" -for some reason, it's always Miami - has been our last resort for years lol. If the US falls, where the hell can I move to? I don't know east asian languages :/
RepublicofEthan "If Republicans were smart, they would make political commercials featuring people who have actually survived abortions, whose mothers were considering them for abortion" Why? It would be no more compelling than saying having an individual ion a commercial saying "hi, I'm that child you didn't have because you didn't have drunken sex at that party that time", at which point another person walks up "and I'm the kid you didn't have because you weren't raped." See how that doesn't work. EVERY egg is a potential human, so if your greatest guilt trip is to point out the potential people who don't exist, that's going to be a very long commercial..... Not to mention an easily refuted position to take. I mean by your logic not only should women be fucking 24/7, they should also be fucked by literally every man on the planet 24/7 simultaneously, you know to give every potential person an equal chance. So I suppose what I'm saying is if republicans were smart they wouldn't take advertising ideas from you.
+Shane Warren because women have a lot of privilege and society tend to favour women more dont know why and there are societies and associations in every university for women. men dont have al this. in any case im acyally quite sorry for you guys
+MrCheese1254 ...not 'smart' enough...honest enough to recognise it, behind the safety of her keyboard, with the luxury of doing NOTHING to change the situation.
If women are making 8% more than men, should I, as a man, be upset by this? Should I organize a rally decrying the war on men while we burn our jock straps?
I believe Shapiro is actually the founder of Truth Revolt, and recognized Klavan and Whittle as the best things going in conservative media right now and made the smart hires. Whittle was already doing the Firewall, but lacked an organized outlet for his material. I really wish Limbaugh would drop his stupid "I don't talk about people who do what I do" rule and give these guys some exposure.
If American women are unhappy then maybe they can try living in an Islamic country like Iran or Egypt or Saudi Arabia. Yeah, I thought so. Life in America is sweet.
As a Christian I really dont understand why some women do not embrace their part in society and the family. A price can not be placed on their value. Perhaps if husbands, children and society had treated them with more love and respect, the feminist movement would have died a timely death. mmmm
As an Atheist, why the hell would anybody think of terminating a pregnancy? That child could be for another set of parents who desperately want a child but are unable to do so.
Why does abortion have to exclusively be a feminist issue? I may not give a shit about feminism, but I sure as hell am not interested in forcing people to have kids that they don't even want and/or can't afford. What good could possibly come of that?
Feminists take credit for all the rights that remotely concern women. Many countries (all the communist countries) had the same rights or laws implemented without all feminist rantings.
***** How many people or groups do you know of that are pushing for abortion but not condoms? Besides, unintentional pregnancies in general are less prevalent in the more liberal parts of America anyway.
Why does abortion have to exclusively be a feminist issue? It doesn't, AgeOfSuperboredom. Politicians want it to be, but it doesn't have to be if we're logical about it. When you take an issue and assign it to one group of people, that silences other groups of people. Ben mentioned this in the video when he said that some women (men, too) view this as a battle against a woman's reproductive rights. The problem with this is that it's myopic - this is also a human life issue and freedom issue. The unborn child can't speak for itself. Many believe that NOBODY has a claim to that life, no exceptions. However, if you make this an issue about "reproductive rights," then all of the sudden you instantly silence the voices of all men since they can't give birth. This leaves pro-life women as the only opposition. It's all about politics, and that means controlling voter groups.
Great video, but could you post your linked sources in the description box in future videos? It's better to propagate these facts from their source instead of showing people the video that they will likely blow off as bias.
If all the statistics he says are actually true, then he definitely makes some really good points. I still don't agree with his pro-life stance. If I was raped or contraception failed, I think I should have the right to abort.
silentArtist00 stop trying to decide what the law should be based on very rare circumstances... The percentage of abortion that occurs because of rape is very low in first world countries and is often overstated in the media... Contraceptives are highly effective, and if you take both, the before and after pill, there is virtually no chance of getting pregnant... Most abortions occur because of poor family planning or irresponsible teenagers... Would rape laws be decided on the odd scenario where a woman tries to trap her lover by having sex with him, to have his semen in her vagina and then hurt herself intentionally and accuse the man of rape... Should rape laws change because of such rare cases?
That nearly happened, but the DNC realized very quickly that she was gaining traction among their precious white female demographic, so they were quick to focus the majority of their efforts on taking her down to send a message to conservatives that the female demographic was their turf.
RepublicofEthan What evidence do you have that Palin was "gaining traction" among the female demographic? I was all set to vote for McCain in 2008 until he brought that folksy ignoramus on board. The woman was an embarrassment to all involved, and the fact that anyone still takes her seriously speaks poorly of conservatives.
ClumsyRoot And the only reason I voted for that damned RINO McCain was because he brought that "folksy ignoramus" on board. Senator McCain was and is a menace to the Republic, however much a hero Commander McCain was in the Navy.
Halo4Lyf I looked at the 2008 election as a "less of two evils" affair. In retrospect, I wouldn't have voted for either of them. You _like_ Palin? Why, exactly?
ClumsyRoot I like Sarah Palin because she's bold, funny, and stands for many things I support: the right to bear arms, saving the unborn, freedom of (not from) religion, etc.
I dont know how to feel. This video contains some absolute truths then some irrational logical non sequiturs. As a liberal that cares about truth first I disagree with other liberals in areas like the wage gap. That's the truth on this video. But then this guy turns out to be just as politically biased but on the republican side. There are many different sects of Christianity some agree with birth control some dont. So if you cut birth control from insurance then you have to cut every other Christians objections too like blood transfusions as Jahovah Witnesses disagree with them on religious grounds. By this guys logic you receiving a blood transfusion is infringing on the Joho rights. The number of people that disagree with contraception is about equal to number of people that disagree with blood transfusions. That's why You need to listen to both sides of every arguments and not just side with your own political party by default.
Or, you can just look out for yourself in advance when applying for a job as to what type of coverage the company offers with their insurance plan. If you don't like what they offer, don't take the job. No one is forcing you to take any particular job or to even accept the insurance provided if you take that job. You can even purchase supplemental insurance in the event that the provided insurance has unacceptable gaps. If I owned a business and I wanted a plan that only covers heart bypasses and Kidney stones, I should have the right to pick that plan. No one OWES you insurance coverage of any sort
Two things. First, relatively few people disagree with all contraceptive use. In Hobby Lobby's case, they only disagreed with a handful of contraceptives that can supposedly cause abortions. Many people disagree with abortions, often considering them equal to murder, and wouldn't want to have anything to do with them. Second, blood transfusions and contraceptives are not the same. When a person disagrees with blood transfusions, that generally applies only to themselves and their families. They don't care if someone else gets one. As I mentioned before, most people against contraceptives are only against the ones that can cause abortions, which they consider murder. That's a belief that has a broad application. They believe it's wrong for anyone, not just themselves.
The whole medical insurance thing wouldn't even be an issue if Democrats didn't insert government into the debate. Let the people negotiate what is and is not covered and paid for.
DarkBungleX "I dont know how to feel. This video contains some absolute truths then some irrational logical non sequiturs. As a liberal that cares about truth first I disagree with other liberals in areas like the wage gap. That's the truth on this video. I think you TruthRevolt would benefit if they list all the links to data Shapiro mentioned (not just in this case, as a general rule for all videos by TruthRevolt), similar to what Stefan Molyneux does on his videos. I`m really interested to see some of the research he mentioned.
+Baron Vongieger When someone dies, you mourn what they were, the affection you had towards them, and the memories you made with them. None of these things are present in an unborn child.
The fact that women are better off than they have ever been before is not an indication that we ought to stop pushing for Women's Rights, it is an indication of how successful that movement has been over the years (despite people like you dismissing their efforts at every turn) and how much more good it can do in the years to come.
+ggg 37 No I think the #1 reason women get with men is if they have money. Feminism has destroyed gender relations. The divorce rate in America is 50% and a new study showed that women are not happy. Thank you feminism.
+ggg 37 Neither did yours. Unsupported claims can be disputed by other unsupported claims. Feminism is all about making emotional appeals, if we were to bring in data, and facts into the argument you wouldn't stand a chance.
+ggg 37 Dude you are repeating the same stuff every feminist does on the internet, sexism misogyny..... Feminism does not have a monopoly on all gender relations. Just because people are not feminists it does not mean that they hate the other gender or dont want equality. You are not leaving much room for discussion, its either I believe all of feminism or I want what Saudi Arabia does to women. Feminism now has become a misandric cult.
+ggg 37 No like seriously you've contented all over this board and lol you have called everyone a misogynist! Agree with me or you're a misogynist. See its this type of attitude and name calling that makes people detest feminism
One thing you're missing here: Your argument that everything has improved is not a valid argument because just because things have improved doesn't mean it's all great now.
I almost agree 100%. The one thing I disagree with is that abortion is murder. Claiming human life before birth but after conception is important is just arbitrary. There's gotta be a reason human life is important, or it isn't. I think my life is important. It's mine, so I can make that call, therefore it's true. Does a fetus value it's own life? No, it values nothing. Certainly not in the first trimester when brain activity is completely random. After that, I'm not sure if they value anything, therefore we shouldn't kill them at that point just to be safe... Whattaya know, that's perfectly in line with current abortion laws!
Is claiming that life after conception is important not equally arbitrary? Self defense depends on a concept of self which studies place at 18-24 months. If thats your arbitrary line, would you support post birth abortion up to 18 months?
***** It's not equally arbitrary because it's axiomatic. If I can make value judgements, then they are valuable to me by definition. If I don't have the cognitive functions to make value judgements, then I don't care if I die, by definition... If you wish to argue that my life _isn't_ valuable because of _your_ values, then you've forfeited your own life to someone else as well, to be consistent. This line of thinking falls apart. Therefore, it must be my values alone that matter to my life. But I'm not sure if sense of self is required for value judgements. I've heard good arguments from both sides... This is why I said I wasn't sure past the point of the first trimester; but that's enough time for an abortion so no need to rush an answer on this.
GreyWolfLeaderTW I see no significant difference between sperm and egg next to each other, and ones that are combined or attached to the uterine wall. If there is significance in those actions, make the case. The DNA is the same between both cases. I start with the question of what makes humans deserving of rights, then begin to answer it by mentioning their properties. You seem to start with humans being deserving of rights de facto just because they're human, no?
George Cataloni You don't seem to realize that sperm and egg cells have only *half* the genes of a concieved child. And that only upon fertilization does those genes mix and create a new and unique DNA sequence that only that child has an none other. No, the DNA is not the same, as gene swapping and mutations occur during fertilizations. That's the definition of *natural human rights*, kiddo.
GreyWolfLeaderTW If that's your definition of natural human rights, then I have to call it out as arbitrary because there is no logic in it. I made the case for why certain brain functions are important by showing that the failure of those brain functions are not important to the "person" themselves. That's as logical and axiomatic as it gets. To oppose that is to say someone is valuable regardless of anyone's ability to make value judgements; that's nonsense! Value = value, A = A, get it?
Because if the world's population keeps growing at the rate that it is, in 100 years we'll all be living as if we're in a packed nightclub 24/7. I mean, I'd prefer that people use contraception so that they don't NEED an abortion, but since there's a ton of dumbasses out there not doing that...
+Roy Yes -- people need to stop fucking so much, and with no contraception no less. I see that your point is "less babies", not so much "more abortion" (correct me if I'm wrong, though). It's easier and more economic to just stop having too much [unprotected] sex rather than opening as many abortion clinics as there are McDonald's. I haven't done any formal research, but I bet the countries with the highest birth rates are also the countries with the lowest [sexual] education, as well as with the youngest parents. Those underdeveloped countries tend to have a pretty nice death rate, too, so no worries. :^)
This is true on a global level but not here in the US, at least yet. Global "replacement rate" (basically, rate of birth needed to sustain population) is generally 2.1. We are somewhere right near that number, if I remember correctly. Some countries are at like 4, though, and are blowing it up bigtime.
Ben, this is great. I have one request: Provide links to your sources in the description field. I have arguments about this stuff, and this would be a good source to back up my claims.
The taking the time off to raise children is huge. About 10 years ago I took 2 years off from work due to a medical illness. I can state that 100% confidence that ended up costing me about $200k, just in income lost when I *came back to work* when all was said and done. And that is from working a middle class, white collar job. Now you imagine the person that takes 5+ years off to raise their kids and send them off to elementary school and their salary is going to be well below what it would have been if they had never taken work off.
Great video, but I REALLY wish you would have sources on these stats. Not because I don't believe it, but because those who oppose us don't. If you had sources, I would share it.
Do u still have all the data from that or can point me to where I can find it? Would really like to show it to some people who won't just take your word for it.
On abortion -- A fetus cannot claim ownership over a womans body/ life. That is a violation of the woman's human rights. Force to remove it is perfectly justifiable.
I literally wish I can copy what he says and just paste it whenever I need his facts in an argument.. most brilliant man I've ever listened to. transitioned from left to right because of him in just a matter of weeks.
I remember finding some of those crime statistics myself a few years ago. It is amazing that crime has overall decreased so much in the United States. You wouldn't know it from watching the news, unfortunately. But, it is the truth. Americans are doing well!!! Don't watch the news, and we will keep getting better!
we also don't need Emma Watson and her crying voice saying that women need men for women's rights, leading us to understand that women don't have rights and it's all because of men.
A dude in my class just got accused of sexual harassment of a minor because he was babysitting a girl and her mom told the police that he harassed her daughter which of course, is not true.
Everywhere I go in my city, there are 2/3rds more women working than men. I cant get a job for the life of me while I know women with all sorts of psychological issues get job after job after job after job. They cant hold them because they are typical western women and just bounce around. That, and most of them are attractive. I'm tired of this. I can build and repair a computer or network blindfolded. I dont even need to Google anything. In college, I HELPED my CIS instructors teach their classes! Yet no one will hire me no matter what I do. And then women wont give guys like me the time of day because I dont have a job. I wish I had $5000 so I can move to another part of the world.....
I've heard about the proposed Equal Rights Amendment that hasn't been ratified by enough states to become an amendment. Anybody know anything about this?
If women could be payed 78% less than men, then why are employers hiring men, it's cheaper to hire a woman for "the same work" so I ask why hire men at all?
You forgot to mention that when it comes to child custody and child support payments, the vast majority of state and federal laws favor women over men.
