Right since when was giving a dude 5 years not support. How much more do we need to baby a 25 year old man making millions of dollars to play basketball
I agree leave the fans out of it. This is on ownership thats why they shouldn't make him play any games. But no matter, he will have to play in that arena.
You guys aren't patience cut the bs. It took giannas 4 years to be an all star. Simmons just got done playing his fourth year in the nba.. 3 straight all star.... You boo him like he's the man.. He's not even the highest paid player on your team. He's the third., he has been pushed to 2nd, 4th, 2nd, to 3rd scoring option those four years. How does someone" improve when his role gets diminished each season 🤔
I think Philly fans are mad at the wrong guy. Trading Jimmy, giving Tobias the max, doc rivers, and giving Simmons the max. This front office made one wrong move after the next and ran a good potential team into the ground. Y’all should be mad at Elton brand.
Jimmy Butler rolled through practice with Minnesota and destroyed the starters, cussing out management the entire time. Story made him more wanted by every team in the league. Ben is soft.
This situation reminds me of my situation at my older job. I checked out mentally and all that. However, I still went into work, kept it professional until I got home and began looking for another job. Once I handed my two weeks, I felt relieved
the difference is you can quit your job anytime you want. Ben simmons can't leave his job until his team says he can basically which makes the situation different
@@joyboy1720 - The Sixers are trying to give Ben Simmons what he wants, but they aren't going to take a loss just for the sake of his happiness. Ben needs to grow up and do what he has to do to facilitate this trade. He doesn't have to *want* to up his trade value, but that's the only way to get him out as fast as he wants out. So he *needs* to do it, instead of cutting off his nose to spite his face.
He’ll be the next franchise’s problem too, he can’t handle criticism, and you can’t run from that. He’ll have criticism with his next team too, and what’s he gonna do, run from them too?
I’m not sure if “pain” is what the sixers are trying to inflict on Simmons, but if so as a Philly fan, im all about it. You disrespected the sixers and Philly in general so you deserve whatever “pain” you get. Can’t wait to hear the BOOs for Simmons Friday night!
Please tell me how three-games gone boost his trade value? The man is who he is.. and Jay Williams is right it doesn't help Philly for him to go back out there and play. And if you trying to win a championship do you really think Doc Rivers needs this type of pressure on him all season? The man already gave up to three game leads
@@saiyanroyalty229 and that's why you're nota business man, that's a terrible idea, also im pretty sure you can't do that, if he shows up you have to pay him
B.S. J-WILL !!!! He was coddled BEFORE this drama unfolded last season, but certainly NOT now. BEN is being thrown under the bus & you can thank the front office for this episode.
Keep him. Practice him. Suspend him for every game. Make him lose money. He gave up on himself and his fans. We're not mad at Ben Simmons for his shooting % last year... WE'RE MAD THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN TRY.
Philly and the NBA made contributions. I don't care if you are injured your rookie year. Thats your RY. How do you give ROY to a second year player or Donavon Mitchell and Jason Tatum who took their team deep in the playoffs? Smh. They push to get him on the All star team. Then they give him a Max contract without him showing any improvement year after year. Let's not forget him pushing Markelle Fultz out cause he had to play point.. Smh they made their bed.
@@MrDdub619 Blake griffin, Larry bird, David Robinson also won ROTY in their second season. Sorry but your ROTY issue has been in the league for generations stop whinging as Simmons won it in the same way as those other players. Move on

@@Philly.267 Woj and Windhorst already reported that a lot of teams still want him. They know this is all an act by him to force a trade. Ben already stated publicly at the start of the off season he will play for anybody. This is just a Morey vs Ben standoff. Nothing else. Teams just aren't giving up the farm because they know the player wants out. Why give you everything when I know your player wants to leave.
i have to disagree in a point 76ers should play him away for some games before playing him at phily he will be trashed if he score 70 thats a vendetta alright
Ben Simmons is the reason old school has a problem with some of today's player's, Instead of Improving his game, he's acting like a pampered baby because he was criticized
Jay william is def getting his pockets filled by Simmons Camp. This is utter nonsense. To enable someone to just say "im checked out. pay me. trade me" is unacceptable. That standard will destroy this league.
Ben is overrated. He doesn’t even improve his game year after year. Can’t make jump shots in the NBA?! How he get in the NBA? That’s the equivalent of a high school graduate being found out that he can’t read. What!
I have no dog in this fight but to use the “I’m checked out” argument is foul. He signed a contract - long term deal for big money - why does he get to have a tantrum and get his way? What will stop everyone from behaving like this if they have a tough situation. It’s a bad look.
I’m all for player empowerment but man, it Has to be deflating as a fan of a team when you see guys who get max contracts and then they try to force their way out. All people want is for Simmons to improve, he can’t keep running away from getting better
And even if he wanted to leave he didn’t have to behave like this because his trade value is low affff so of course philly don’t wanna trade him for peanuts
Him improving his game and showing out on the court would be the BEST revenge to his critics and doubters.. but that's chess over checkers folks. In his brain, he's not looking at the long game.
The irritating thing about Simmons is he is the kind of player who won't work on his weaknesses, basically says 'well I got a max playing like I do, I don't need to do anything different', thing is the great players never stop trying to improve, they don't just go 'that's me'. That'd be fine if Simmons was happy to accept being the 2nd banana or not considered a superstar but he gives the impression he thinks he's the man.
Michael Jordan, on the other hand, retired as the greatest player in basketball history, and YET HE STILL WANTS TO GO AFTER THE GUYS WHO WRONGED HIM IN HIS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION like he still want to practice and prove those guys wrong lol they can't be more different in terms of mentality
@@jamirimaj6880 yep, you see it in all sports, guys who are talented but will never progress to the very top because they don't have the fire or determination and that's fine most of them would accept that flaw but Simmons belongs in the subset of guys who won't improve but wants to be treated like 1st team all nba.
You sound pretty ignorant assuming an nba player wouldn’t work on his game in general. There’s been videos surfing of him in pro pick up runs and that would just be a small fraction of what he’s done. You’re never around him you know nothing outside of what the media shows you. I think you should save your hate and energy. As a college player everyone always wants to work on their game. So it’s extremely ignorant to assume an nba player doesn’t care🤡🤦🏿♂️
@@jones1926 obviously he works on his game, the point is he doesn't work on it enough relative to the other players of his level, also he seems incredibly thin skinned to the point were he won't take the shots he works on in practice in a game because he is embarrassed he will miss and people will mock him. For an example of someone who works, works and works some more and will attempt shots he isn't good at in games look at Giannis, Simmons should be similar but he lacks that extra 'it' that Giannis has in spades.
Imagine being called petty as a franchise because you want your star player who is still 4 years into his contract to play for his money while you try to trade him. Just say the NBA contract is as powerless as it's ever been right now, no matter how many years you have left on it.
Check the definition of petty if you questioning this. Doesn't matter if youre more right than the other party or not, it's still ultimately petty. Not all wars are won in battle.
If Ben Simmons was a leader and a professional he would have admitted to his fans and his team that he came up short and he would work hard in the off-season to make amends. That's literally all he had to do. And ppl would have responded different. This all because he doesn't want to take accountability for his failure in the postseason and how he let the team down, he just wants to run away. It's childish at best. Cowardly at it's worst.
I can see why Jay Williams defends Simmons. He violated his Bulls contract to ride bikes and got in an accident that ended his career. Both are known for not listening to advice, not respecting their contracts and destroying their own potential.
@@Ghostkilla773 Maybe, but the west is too nuclear. Lakers, Warriors, Jazz, Nuggets, Trailblazers, Clippers, Suns, and Mavs I got all over Minny. Plus they won against the Rockets. I could see them being a play-in team though with the Grizz and the Spurs right there
It's about ego because we expect a grown man, who were paying millions, to show up, be a professional and do his job? FOH You only get one shot at getting the trade right, Ben being in his feelings isnt a reason to rush that trade.
Look up the definition of ego. Just because you may be more in the right than the other party doesn't make every action you make righteous. Not every war is won in battle.
@@bigchillin4216 That's a great esoteric comment but one player shouldn't come before the years' long commitment countless people have made toward one goal. If he wants to be traded, then that trade will happen when it betters the organizations odds at winning a championship.
So, playing video games (in your hotel room) AFTER a NBA basketball game, on your *own* time, doesn't make you a leader on the court?!?🙄 Hate to inform you, Jay. Everyone plays video games nowadays. Professional athletes and regular folk alike ..

Ben needs to be a pro. Jay forgets that. SAS is right. Ben signed a contract to play and is getting compensated richly for it. It don’t matter what the situation is, Ben gave his signature and word for that money. If he wants out, ball out.
They need to let him go, he doesn’t wanna be there... they need to take a trade and not expect a superstar in return. Move on from ben cause it’s a big distraction going into the new season..
They don't really have to. They may not get a superstar out of it but they'll trade when they feel like it's good enough. It's Ben's fault anyway he asked out after signing a max deal just a year ago.
Lol then what team would want Ben then? I mean I'm sure he wants to keep getting paid millions of dollars, he wants to do it for a organization that will continue coddling him
@@matthewgillies6273 a smart GM would know he’s only doing this to force Phillys hand. Ben is an incredible player still and will be highly motivated to play well for his new team
Ben Simmons - 76ers Saga It's gonna make other orgs be very detailed about contracts going forward. Player empowerment has been set back a bit because of this.
That won't happen Ben is only about .01 percent out of 99.9% of the players in the league acting like this, other players have more pride and responsibilities to the league and thier to be that foolish.
They aren't getting any decent offers. Sure Morey asked for waaaay more than he was gonna get, but nobody offered enough that they could make a deal. Morey's price is just how to open negotiations. Philly would trade him for anyone who is a real player. They're going to wait until midseason when all these people who resigned in the offseason can be traded.
With how big Ben contract is philly should of did a sign and trade deal with multiple free agents that want to play with Joel. Players like Kyle Lowry. KL would have never made it to the heat and Ben would be in Toronto right now.
@@MrDdub619 I don't know that we wanted a guy so close to the end of his career, but I totally agree that would have been a good route to take and let us negotiate with teams as well as agents. Then again we still can get those guys in a few months.
This isn't about causing pain. It's about setting a precedent that a player can't just force his way out on the first year of his contract by acting up.
There’s been few times recently where I completely agree with SAS. Today is one. Ben needs to just light it up for 3-4 games and Philly will be able to get a nice package. The next CBA is about to be all bad for players though smh
The NBA Anylist created this problem. They crowned him as one of the best players aka "1 jumpshot away from being LeBron" etc.... Why wouldn't he be feeling himself.
Kyre Irving aint too far behind. Ego Ego Ego .. Grow up and Do your job Knock it off already and Stop leaning towards this pettiness Do your job and play the Game you get paid for.
You can't even void your cellphone contact without paying the remainder of the money back, I'm pretty sure he'd have to buy himself out at the very least, if that's at all possible, which I doubt.
Damm am starting to notice that all the sports talk show, all they do is talk BADLY about the player’s SMH! Aren’t they supposed to be talkin about the games?
Yo, Kobe would live for this and prove EVERYONE wrong! Thats the attitude I want Ben to have. Yes, I live in Philly and and Sixers fan, Im mad at him too, but I honestly just want him to play hard and prove everyone wrong
we cant keep getting mad at Ben for requesting a trade with 4 years left on his deal when the sixers were literally trying to trade him RIGHT after signing him to his max. we cant say “lets try to trade him with 5 years left on his deal” but then say “he’s wrong for requesting a trade with 4 years left on his deal” lol blame ownership for that. they tried to trade this man at the start of his entire contract but once he requests a trade he’s the villain. not defending Ben at all but in that specific regard, i hate when they keep bringing that up
exactly, ben simmons is wrong with the way he's doing things, but the sixers are just as much to blame as ben simmons is. Yet no one on that team wants to take the responsibility for their role in all this, they still run with the narrative that everything is ben simmons fault, which is why the situation is getting so bad
Facts like they had no problem trading him a year into the contract so why does it matter if he wants a trade 1 year in ; Philly is better just trading him
You're talking about potentially acquiring James harden lol. Ofc they would look into it if given the chance. If Ben got his feelings hurt because of that he just shows again that he is full of himself , he has yet to prove he can reach the value of a James harden on the court. And requesting a trade after a series mainly lost because you don't improve your game years after years tend to rub people wrong way. Embiid is so done with this man's bs.
@@dabilaroali1037 yeah he's in the wrong business if he thinks he's untouchable on the trade block... Everyone goes though that except the elite of course
I get where Jay is coming from, but he's off base. Ben is breaching his contract. It's wild to put blame on the 76ers for NOT PAYING MAX DOLLARS for services they're NOT RECEIVING.
So what Jay is saying is that they should enable Ben or any player that just signed the contract and want to renege on it. Instead of improving, he ran away. If Ben really wants out, he should just give up the money. As simple as that.
Ben should offer to void his contract. If he never plays again, and if he never gets a contract again, it will be because he took it all for granted. Depression is a real thing, but he does not deserve to have it both ways. Retire if it's that bad.
76ers did this to themselves they knew they had to trade him .. but after game 7 doc and Joel threw him under the bus when he was at his lowest point in his professional career .. now he said f y’all and all this has come with it .
We are all humans. If people we trusted said some things about us. We all would feel some type of way about it. They should’ve just traded that man and let him go
Jay will argument is idiotic. When you sign a contract is is binding, there is no emotional clause for when you get mad. Keep him, fine him all game for the entire year.
If he didn’t humble himself after his disappointing turn in the playoffs, he doesn’t possess the intangibles of a champion .. he should have been working on his shot while pulling strings for a change of scenery.
Doc Rivers tricked y’all man. Dudes been bounced in the second round almost every year since 2011. Failed to make adjustments and schemes and has thrown multiple 20 point leads and series leads. Literally look at what happened to the Clippers last year. Stop letting the media scapegoat these players. Ben had the ball taken from him. Look at his production in the 2019 series before Brett took the ball out his hands. They were one shot from a title. Philly fans are slow on the uptake. Free Ben simmons
