Stokes' magnificent 135 not out saw England scrape home in the third Test, draw the series level and 1-1 and prevent Australia from retaining The Ashes with two matches to spare.

After the World Cup heroics who could have ever dreamed that - 1 down, 1 drawn and a 1st innings total of 67 by test match 3 - and with a never before achieved score to chase down - we would witness an event that almost overshadowed the World Cup triumph, and not a series win either? But that is what all us lucky souls watching witnessed - something that in many years to come we will all say "I saw that - I watched it live - the day Ben Stokes beat Australia".

As an aussie. I will always want Australia to win... But this was unbelievable to watch. Absolutely amazing. Hats off to stokes and England. They were down and out. That was brilliant. One of the best matches of any sport I've watched. Take a bow, stokes and even leach. Enjoy, England. Well fought and well deserved win.

If you don’t understand the pure joy and anguish of test cricket - I feel sorry for you. There is literally nothing like it - 5 days of sport at its most sublime. A modern gladiatorial arena. Phenomenal.

@@waqas2840 , if he's better (and that's a big if), then it's not by much. Botham's stats up until around 1985-86 were phenomenal. Won matches with bat and ball consistently.

Ben stokes and Eoin Morgan are the key 🔑 roll for getting world cup in 2019 for England it is not a un faired new rule for getting which team will score more boundaries for deciding winning team it is already repeated in rr v kkr in 2015

getting bowled out for 67 wasn't ideal - get this quote in the record books for understatement of the fucking millenium. also, he was so, so wrong about people forgetting if they lost in manchester. This was a miracle that i hope will be remembered for decades to come

I'm very, very happy for him and for us! He is incredible. I am also very happy that he seems to have made significant changes in his life after that low point last year, when he beat the shit out of some local while drunk. This is a person who has grown up and rapidly matured. If he fulfils his potential - and after this, he's well on the way - he could be one of the best ever.

He wasn't drunk - the 2 agitators were pissed and spoiling for a fight - Ben just obliged them, he was so quick they were on the floor and yelling for injury lawyers before you could say "Wish I hadn't goaded the ginger guy"; a point the court upheld when acquitting him of all charges.

OK the LBW decision that wasn't given. I actually think it was a terrific umpiring decision! The ball tracking system needs to be reviewed because it's broken. If you look closely in slow motion and trust me I have 100 times, you can see where the ball makes first impact on the pad it's sliding down off. The ball tracker appears to pick up the second impact on the leg which shows it hitting middle and off stump. Well the angle on first impact it looks like it's barely hitting off. Have a look in slow motion and let me know. Clearly had the aussies reviewed they would have won, but it does appear we've found a bug with the ball tracking system, so in retrospective it's actually more fair what happened.

He’s got edge about him. Yes, at times can be a loose cannon. Managed and channel correctly you can produce that. Look at Stuart Broad for example not streetwise enough and no edge.
