Already a 'national treasure' Ben......such a talented performer and right up there with the likes of John Hurt-totally natural & seamless in his work!!
I first saw him in "Lilt". I was impressed even more when I read that he shuns the idea of fame as acting is simply his job and deserves no pedestal to pretentiously hold him up high above other more noble vocations.
Ben, You are already a 'national treasure'....such a talented, seamless performer and so natural with it. I put you right up there in the same league as the likes of the great (late) John Hurt as one of Britains' finest!!
As a classicist, I first saw him in BBC's Richard ll and fell under the spell of his acting abilities. As a retired theatre critic, I cannot agree with you more. I would have dearly loved to review his Hamlet at the Old Vic. The film clips are so evocative. Yes, he is a national treasure who must not be swallowed up, EVER, by the Hollywood system for which he is tempting bait, especially after The Hour. As Rupert Graves has done successfully, he must avoid that career destroying temptation. BTW Rupert Graves cannot be mentioned, too, without the moniker of "national treasure".
Can you get any cuter. Just watched the Hollow Crown again and every word is perfect. OK Shakespeare had a hand in it but you, you are something special.
