Ben is amazing on every level but I really loved the interviewers who were kind enough to not be over enthusiastic and scream at him and act all stupid. They actually were nice, asked decent questions and respected Ben having a hard time doing all this. Lovely.
He has a measured, hypnotic cadence to his voice which I absolutely love! I always thought that kind of speech came with the characters he plays. It's lovely to see a proper interview, he's obviously a very private person and his anxiety in this situation shows (not that I blame him, I can't imagine anything as horrendous as live TV)
I love him. He is a magical, enchantingly, old souled, beautiful being. He is so talented and intelligent I can't quite get to grips how perfectly formed and genius he is.
Ben is the Mozart of modern acting. From his earliest years Mr Whishaw has known exactly what to do. That certainty has given him a great start with each new role. I believe he works incredibly hard to create what he knows the script demands. His humility, when talking about his achievements is partly an attempt not to seem complacent. He would not like to come across as a complacent airhead. He is charming, yes, but also deeply serious about his work.
Need the luck of ten thousand saints in heaven! I'm on the young writer's programme, and I started writing a play with him in mind, so hopefully he'll deign to perform in it.
I must say that this morning show from Britain is WAAYY ahead of the rubbish we have in Australia. Here, cheeriness gives way to banality but these interviewers seem sincere and intelligent. I tuned in to learn a bit about Mr Wishaw after seeing Criminal Justice and what a fine actor he is.
