In this video I review the Benchmade Anthem and discuss my limited experience with the model. The Anthem may be my new favorite Benchmade! YD Knives on Instagram: ... Bearded Gear Tees: teespring.com/...
I got mine a week ago. Still in the honeymoon phase... I absolutely love it. Got rid of my other Benchmade knives with the omega springs because this just works perfectly- and should continue to do so far longer than the standard axis locks. The gritty/crunchy mechanical feeling/sound is the ball bearings. It's actually enjoyable to hear them rotating in the titanium. Maybe after a few thousand cycles of opening there might be some blade play, but mine came perfect with none. Centering is better than any other Benchmade I have ever had and might be the best out of any other knife I've owned. Grinds are near perfect too, although toothy. My newer one did come with a different finish of the handle and clip. The clip was more bronzed. I used a brass brush to take it down to the same finish as the handle and I'm happy with it. I don't like milled clips for usage, but aesthetically I do love it. Might look like a dick to some people but I don't see that so much. If your dick looks like the clip from an Anthem, I feel VERY sorry for ya!
Love the design, the blade and the mechanism of the Axis lock. Everything just comes together so well. Like the old adage goes: " You get what you pay for"
I picked up two of these used for about $350 each. I immediately replaced the clips on each with a deep-carry Benchmade clip from the Contego 810; I just needed to enlarge the holes on the clip a bit. For the past year it is the only knife I carry now unless I need a smaller or non-locking knife (mainly when traveling). I've probably got over 100 knives including a few Sebenzas but this is by far superior in every way, at least to me. Plus it's fully ambidextrous (I'm a lefty).
I think that this is soooooo much better than a Sebenza. I mean, hands down objectively its better. Then at the same price its definitely better. I have heard that the Anthem can also suffer from QC issues unfortunately. Other than that I think it is one of the best in category. There is some serious competition though from Hinderer in the same price class. For less money there are some absolutely stunning Reates and WEs. I think the choice comes down to personal preference, USA made and the lifesharp. Benchmade does a top class job with 20CV.
@@beardedgear I have never ever had QC issues with benchmade and I own 20 of them. They have always been good to me and always been super fast on shipping back to me. I also have never had any omega springs break either like you here all these people say. Definitely the Anthem is my most favorite knife in my collection.
That waterfall is at least 75 feet tall, and the pool at the bottom is no more than a couple feet deep, jumping off of this one would result in death lol
You might want to keep an eye on the Knife_Swap on reddit. I see them pop up there fairly regularly for between $330-$370. It's where I bought mine as well.
