Just got my Damascus titanium bugout clone today in the mail and I am pretty impressed! The Damascus blade is supposedly vg10 Damascus but it’s polished and looks amazing and the titanium adds some nice weight to the bugout
I’m new to knife collecting, new to AliExpress, I really didn’t believe “they” would use real carbon fibre, did the research and have a brass 535 and plastic 533, now I’m waiting on a 535 carbon fibre model. I want be able to try mix and match scales and blades after learning how to disassemble these models. I like having the cheap and unique models at almost 1/10th the price... I can buy two titanium/ carbon models for less than the price of certain after market scales and still have spare blades/spares.
Thanks again for your work on these reviews. I ordered the Microtech 535-3 carbon fiber clone from Dhgate... Now I'm unpatiently waiting for it to arrive... As you say 4 weeks of Chinese shipping later.
Ive ordered several clones off DHgate and recently was on there looking at mini Osborne and bugohts and guessing they may be slip joints as there's none with axis lock.
It’s crazy but I still like the carbon fiber one . Works great now half a year later all broke in. Replaced the springs from Amazon . Mine broke first flick within days of each other but that was the first week . Been good since . I hope all is well or getting better with your family bro ❤😊
Thanks I appreciate it , my carbon fiber one is still my go and still working great other than losing one screw. We are taking it day at a time thanks for the kind words!
You can make springs from guitar strings, I done two ganzos over two year ago with guitar strings as the ganzo original springs are super stiff, they haven't broke yet, all you need is round nose pliers & snips & you can play around with different string gauges to increase or decrease strength of springs
@@ArizonaLifestyles1 I am new to knives to be honest. I have a mini barrage and mini boost and now I see they are assisted opening. Thanks for the info. I had no idea.
@@ThenVersusNow_ those are good knives … Bugout and different variants where originally designed to be a light simple edc knife - really kind of bare bones no auto or assisted- however once they break in they are quick as well with just a flick of the thumb - thanks
Good luck I’ve gotten some good ones and some are poor - overall my experience with the Bugout knockoffs are pretty good. carbon fiber is still my favorite - let me know if 3 weeks to a month how it turns out - Thanks for watching
Really like the videos. I've ordered a few from aliexpress and am happy with em. Have a couple zts and benches and a few more. Bottomline is I know its wrong for them to clone em but I also don't believe none of the name brands are worth what they ask. Just MO but just can't see it
I can understand - that is a whole point of these videos are they worth it - some are not worth it and some are not … and they can be used as rental knives … meaning if you really like the size and feel of em …then go and spend the money on a real one … but out of all my clone knives only 3 have failed and they were all the OTF Microtech clones
Mine didn't come that greasy lol 😂 Yeah the carbon fiber is pretty good looking. For me personally I don't like the feel of the carbon fiber in my hand. It feels dry. Wish it had a coat of clear.
@@ArizonaLifestyles1 I do believe it's real Titanium. I did the magnet test and it passed. My brother in law bought one too and got white sparks on his grinder. The magnet only stuck where there was steel in the inner piece. My seller was guoknife. I don't know if the supplier is the same for all sellers.
Does the so called real one have ball bearing pivot , my 535-3 and 533-3 clones do ! If I bought the real one ass it's called I would feel stupid every time I looked at it !
