Interesting and informative review of the clone Autocrat. It's crazy how well the knock off was made to mimic the original. I have two original ones in my knife collection. Extremely hard to see the difference between the real deal and the clone. A couple of things popped out to me to differentiate: original has more luster on the handle scales and also could see the difference of the blade grind. Surreal also how close the clone packaging is to the original.
KEY WORD: PROPERLY! But yeah, I have Lightning Elites done on my Wicked Edge Sharpener at 20 degrees per side, up to 3000 grit, and Mirror polished edges to 3 Micron. I could do field surgery on a willing individual if needed, it's so SHARP. But, it won't last under some hard materials, very long. I have 4 and they are my FAVORITE Chy-na knife of all time!
Yes the blades are the major issue with these fakes … they are not usually the blade steel that are stamped on them … Also I’ve noticed that the OTF’s fail easily if you use these knives for more than just light use - thanks for watching
Look at the Microtech Ultratech clones … I’ve had the best of luck with them - they even make a Damascus variety of them with carbon fiber that has held up well - I have a review of that clone - good luck and let me know what you pick up - Thanks for watching
hey, i dig your videos. I just bought a Pro Tech Calmigo clone and a Buck 112 Auto clone from Dh Gate. would you consider getting 1 or both of those and review them. im in the waiting for it to arrive stage so
Protech yes , buck no … if I wanted an old school cool buck knife I’d just buy a real one … because they look cool all beat up … high end knives like protech I’d want to try out a clone before I bought the real thing
Thanks for the comment once you get them if you are asking if I would review your knife I would do it and pay for the shipping and we could figure it out how to get it back to ya … and get ya some stickers or something :)
@@SimpleThoughts-kc6gh absolutely 👍. Yeah , those steels get ridiculous sharp , cold steel and Kubey steel seems really decently done . I’m going to try some s90v when the new Hapstone RS sharpener arrives . It’s on sale and looked like a good compact set up for edc knves . I haven’t tried Venev stones yet , just Diamond and older stuff
@@ArizonaLifestyles1 I am not waiting for that as soon as I saw your video (I thought I was getting a real Benchmade) I went home and put it on the scale and boom 4.3oz. I emailed BENCHMADEONLINE where I bought it and told them it was fake and they sent me a long email and to send them pictures of everything from the box to the shipping label to the knife and asked how I know it was fake. I simply told them the weight was off even from their own website. Told them I was contacting my credit card company and my state Attorneys General to put in a complaint. Glad I saw your video as it was the very same knife they sent me for not $40 but $289 ouch
