I was dubious about the quality and durability of the Bugout, but after getting one, I was so impressed that I bought the Baby Bugout, too. Love both of them. EDC all the way.
Nice to hear from you brother, and I appreciate you taking the time to watch. This blade turned out to be enjoyable for me. You have a great weekend too
Nice review and video! Thinking about replacing my basic Mora with this knife now. As you know, I'm an UL guy, so 1.8oz is pretty sweet weight for what seems like a pretty beefy folder. My go-to Mora is around 3.7oz. Looks like this could do everything my Mora could do (maybe even better?), but I agree that other colors would be nice (like easy to find neon orange or pink). Price tag gives me pause, tho. Then again, Christmas is around the corner. Happy trails to you!
I wouldn't call this a beefy folder, it is very thin! But strong considering the weight. However, in my head I kept on thinking that it must not be very strong with how thin the scales are (and how much flex they have). So I wanted to test it a bit just to see, and maybe prove myself wrong. I would hesitate on switching to this knife from a Mora for your bushcraft/backpacking blade. But I am also not ultralight, so we might have a different perspective. I think a Mora would be a much better knife for wood/kindling/carving tasks. The Benchmade folder is more a knife to cut open Mountain House meal packages with an occasional kindling cut task. I think the Mora would be the other way around, more suitable for kindling/wood and occasional other task. All the best bro
