Just ordered your sheath and dangler in brown. I have no idea why people are complaining about your price when they own a Benchmade. A quality knife deserves a quality sheath!!
Say Heah Eugene, I have my Benchmade Bushcrafter #162 since it first came out. Infact Jason from DLT surprised me with a First Production Run #299 of 500. Yup the First Production Run of the knife. The only thing I did to it was I added the Leather Belt Loop to it. I love the compactness of the sheath and never had a problem with it, NEVER. The Buckskin is of great quality and holds up great, I say that from experience.,,. p
So... i leathercraft as a hobby, and am pretty experienced with making knife sheaths, and i MUST say that the price you are charging for this is absolutely ridiculous! You only have about $15-$20 in material, and it's just a "basic" dangler design... very easily made! $140 is an absurd price for such basic work.
Say Heah Eugene, The more I watch this video, the.more I like the Sheath you made. I like it. But, I guess I got lucky, because the original sheath I got with my B M Bushcrafter #162 is holding up just fine. But I do agree you Custom Sheath is Beautiful, You did good, Dilly, Dilly.,,.p
Hey Zhenya and Vova, Just received my Gransfors Bruks sheath, guard, and holster. Great craftsmanship! My axe is coming today, so I will try it out, and report back via email. I was just checking this knife out at REI this past weekend. If I end up going with it, I will definitely reach out to you for the sheath. Great job, guys!
I would love to purchase this custom sheath for my brand new Benchmade Bushcrafter 162 however, at $141.00 it's way out of my price range. I would pay $100.00 for the sheath including the dangler, but again spending $141.00 and another $20.00 for the dangler plus shipping is a bit too pricey for this guy. I will say that your review of the Benchmade Bushcrafter 162 sold me on this knife and thus, I purchased it. Thanks again for your review and I'm a subscriber. Thumbs up mate!
this is WAY TO MCUH FOR THIS BASIC STYLE OF SHEATH, can not be carried scout style, no admin pouch, there plenty of other sheaths just as nice with more options that cost less
@@TheLordReverend Honestly, it's one of the nicest sheaths that I own. Very supple and it holds the knife quite well. If you're thinking about it, get it. You won't be disappointed.
@@adampolselli597 will do I'm hoping it comes in in time I'm heading out to work in Nevada and will be living in a tent most of the next few months haha
Looks very nice. Frankly, I'm surprised that you don't have a standard option for a loop that accommodates your own fire steel, for those of us who have already purchased one. I know that the fire steel comes with its own holster, but real estate becomes scarce on a waist belt with too many things hung - especially for those of us who routinely carry a holstered firearm as well. Steve
We've thought about this - and may have an option developed for that. The reason for the hesitation is that the ½-inch thick ferro rod is quite large, and its difficult to fit it aesthetically to the sheath. Also, the handle is quite a bit larger on our ferro rod as well.
Thanks for the response. I'd think it would be worth your while to sort out a solution, as you'd be much better served to enhance more orders for your own fire steel, rather than the admittedly quality Exotac competitor. Just my opinion of course.
This is great, thanks! I've been looking at this knife for some time now and the sheath looks awesome! If I may, would it be possible to add a loop hole at the bottom of the sheath to accommodate a lanyard to wrap around my leg so the knife doesn't loosely hang while hiking? Is that recommended? Thanks so much for your time!
24 carat gold is not particularly strong or durable, therefore at this time we are only offering the D ring in various gold alloys to maintain functional durability. Diamond studding is outsourced to the Elvish people, and will add an additional 3 months production time as Sam and Frodo will need to hand deliver. Thank you for your interest.
Eugene, I am about to finally pull the trigger on the bushcrafter knife along with the brown leather you make. Do you have any pics of what the tan bushcrafter looks like in that sheath? I know I shouldnt be this concerned about looks but I will be shelling out $300+ and feel like Id like to see that combo b4 making up my mind on the handle color on the knife. Thanks in advance!
Hello there James! We do not have any sheaths for the Benchmade in the tan color. In fact we’ve never made a tan version - I guess the thinking is it will pick up dirt and grime much easier.
I really really like that sheath but the price is just tough to justify. I could spend $140 on a Gransfors Bruks axe or a leather sheath...both display great craftsmanship but don't compare in utility.
+brandaves yes, this is a fair point. Until we find a quicker and easier way of handcrafting these sheaths, we have to keep the price at this level. Otherwise we cannot keep up with the orders.
*Note:* Repost ReviewOutdoorGear *Good review!* but I think the upcoming Benchmade 200 Puukko is better than the Benchmade Bushcrafter 162 because: - for Winter the new 200 Puukko has a full enclosed tang. So there will be no metal burns or a very cold handle to hold. - also the puukko's handle shape is more comfortable & shape allows more bushcrating techniques. - the price is $123 USD, which is much cheaper. - being a puukko it is well balanced. - the Benchmade 200 Puukko's black leather sheath is much better than the ugly shape & buckskin material of the Bushcrafter 162. Please check it out.
Y'all are ducking crazy it's only single stiched what cost 150? Not the leather oring and you don't include Ferrell rod so help me to understand why it's so exspensive
LOL, I will make my own leather sheath before spending $155 on a sheath. I could by the leather tools, the leather and supplies and spend enough time at becoming a good leather maker before I will pay that price for a sheath.
No doubt, $100 would be a bit high but this is just insanely over priced. $40 more and I can get Battle Horse knife or Lt Wright with a pretty nice dangler sheath!
They are crazy and since this is an exclusive item they can charge whatever the heck they like. Nowadays it is $151.00 when i want to order one after paying $216.00 for the knife.
