Even though I have been doing this as long or longer than you......review of basic building is always good. I have a desire to build a HO layout after I did an inventory of my stuff from my HO days. Planning bench work....so THANKS!

I think the only thing I'd suggest is to use washers for the bolts joining the layout sections together, otherwise thanks for the video Dave.

I still think you should consider a "cross-time" connection between Thunder Mesa Mining and the Goldfield and Calico using the *expasion someday* switch on the G&C...

QUESTION: Do you pre-drill before running the screws into your frame and supports?

Maybe I missed it but what supports the plywood in the center just the risers?

I missed your thoughts on using riser blocks. Why didn't you make the new frame higher to begun with?

Nothing to it if you can get lumber that is straight. Alas, I would have to build my own lumber mill and buy a forest to do that.
