I was 9 years old when the first one came out, went to see it with my sister. When they showed the apes on horseback for the very first time, it scared the be jesus out of me. But I loved both POTA, and BTPOTA's. I especially liked The new astronaut Brett. After escape from POTA's it went south IMHO.
I like your honest review. I liked the mutant concept more than you. Whith their colbalt bomb. At least your review was not irritatting unlike other reviewers who are obnoxious hipsters with no clue or concept understanding.
Any body out there knows why roddy mcdowell did not sign up for this sequel ? was he not offer to reprise the role ? was he not offered enough money ? was he too busy in other commitments? Not knowing the reason as always baffle me , he reprise the role in the next 3 films But was not in this film , Mr mcdowell was a great actor and a true gentleman , for him not to reprise his role in the 2nd film is a mystery ? Does any one out there know the real reason for this ? Cheers davy
Scheduling conflicts. Roddy was in Scotland directing the movie Tam-Lin at the same time Beneath The POTA was in production, so obviously he couldn't be in two places at once. He did return to play Cornelius again in the third Apes film, then played his own son Caesar in Apes 4 & 5 then finally he played Galen in the Apes TV series which ran for 14 episodes in 1974. So Beneath the Planet of the Apes was the only one that he missed.
Charleton Heston wanted the bomb to blow up the world. He did not want to be in another Apes film. I really like the movie. Something about it really stays with me. It is so dark and twisted. A very brazen idea for a film, and seems to go along with the animalistic nature of the series. The whole series was good, except for the Battle movie, last in the series. The reboot movies since are not worth watching.
It isn't really a continuation of the style of the first film. It's something different and even if you see it and don't like it, I don't think you'll be left feeling you're stuck with that conclusion to the first film. You can easily disregard it. When the first film ends, I really still don't see the events of the 2nd film as lying ahead of Taylor.
k but is this the third movie in the series or the second ? I would think since Brett's spacecraft was searching for Taylor and his party that this movie should be second in progression?
If u read this then I’m a big Roblox fan I play it everyday and I play the mimic everyday you should go play it and get lanterns I helped so much people get book 2 nm lantern nm means nightmare 1 life
Great review, man. I think that this movie starts off really well, but begins to spiral downhill really badly by the halfway point. The telepathic humans are completely ridiculous and the ending is just lazy in my opinion. I think that this movie could have been a lot better, but is overall entertaining in my eyes.
