Who noticed the band leader let him cook when he got in his groove and used everyone else to back him up like back up singers. Truth be told the whole band is a gem and Mr Bilal is the diamond on the top of the crown.
600 years ago some French dudes decided to put a slide on an instrument and that paved the way for the most talented and creative musicianship the world has ever seen.
Ever? That’s some strong praise. But then again, I’ve never seen someone be so precise, effortlessly in control of the sounds coming out of a horn. I’m speechless.
@@davidwest7978 look up the creator of the trombone mf, i know black americans feel the need to think they made everything, but Africa overall was not big on metal instruments like this for a long ass time, having a big trumpet like sound is something very old in Europe, one of the oldest i can remember came from Celtic people, and i know damn well they dindt steal from any Black guy because they never even came close to seeing a black person.
45 years later, I now know why my band director said I wasn't good enough. I'll keep playing my trombone till the end, tho. Hopefully I'll channel Mr. Bilal. Dayum.
Yo I closed my eyes thought I was in Harlem nights on the crap table wit SNAKE EYES I wish I knew what my super power was cause I would love to make people feel the way I felt
It’s insane just how much power he can produce. Not only that but the range of highs to low is so impressive. Such a gifted brother and you can tell how much he and his family have worked on their craft. Can’t wait to see the next generation of Bilal’s put their own flavor into playing!
I played it for 12 years.. I didn’t either. This guy has beyond surpassed what I expected mastery to sound like. Didn’t even know that the rabbit hole went that deep
I remember a couple months back I saw that other solo and its stuck with me. Seeing this right here: that's someone who has found their calling and is utilizing their gift. It makes me happy seeing he's gained some recognition but he deserves so much more. If only musicians like him were held in the same regard as athletes.
I'd loved William Bilal or his brother Hank get a DAMN Grammy just because. They have certainly Mastered their instruments that's one thing I know. They should be hired as clinicians for sure.
lol- that cheeky low note at @3:55 to remind us that the Trombone is supposed to play on the Bass Clef. Seriously though, amazing. The range, tone quality, style.... Man has a passion and nurtured it into something so impressive for all to enjoy. All my respect goes out to ya
I gotta see him perform in person. This made my heart and soul dance. I hope he has a successful career in music and continues blowing that trombone for his life
They fye too, but buddy, they were NOT carrying him!!! Dude deserves all the credit and recognition he’s getting from this for sure!! He singing with dat bih!!! Lol
I've heard people say that musicians can make their instrument "sing", but I've never heard a musician sound like they were actually singing through their instrument...@Wil Bilal - you my friend have a gift that I hope you allow more of the world's ears to be blessed with.
The best part is that they came out so flat and off key that their own band mates were shaking their heads like what is this. Then he started hitting them notes and they started getting into it🎉🎉🎉 ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
Not quite sure what other compliments I could give this young man’s talent and performance that haven’t already been offered! Clearly he’s supremely talented, but I can only imagine the level of work he puts in to truly harness what God’s blessed him with. I was a fan the first time I heard him perform a few years ago and I’m excited to follow his growth and development going forward!
