I took my little sister to go see Penguins of Madagascar yesterday, and she kept asking me why the wolf kept saying "penguins" so weird. I told her it was just his accent for ease of answer, and then I remembered it's Benedict that plays the wolf.
he's right, he had a team of staff, editors who hear pengwings and said, lets leave that in the final take. turned an otherwise unnoteworthy documentary about islands into a cult classic.
We didn't mind it when he pronounced penguins incorrectly. We fell in love with him more. It's just plain adorable. We just like to tease him that's all. He doesn't need to be terrified lol
"Peng-wings"? Oh god that's hysterical! But I would also note that it's adorable- I love people's individual speaking quirks (I have a friend who says "libarry" instead of library) because it's what makes them unique.
Anyone real enough to make fun of themselves (not being able to say "penguins" for example) gets my vote. He's also more than a pretty face. He's a really good actor. He's played so many disparate roles equally well that he's proven he has some impressive acting chops. In addition, he's funny, gracious, charming, and intelligent. Methinks I've been detecting some "sour grapes" in some of these comments. That reflects more on the poster than the actor or his fans.
Crying with laughter. Pengwing, smaug, documentary, graham, miranda, timothy, benedict oh my poor heart. (benedict you can have that). Penguin, Pengwing who cares it's adorable
haha omg that's true. First he mispronounced penguin to pangwang then he mispronounced DreamWorks to Disney (I know he didn't literally mispronounce it but got it wrong).
Mehra Ahsan in all fairness this is only a clip out of a show . Graham Norton usually does talk to each guest . i have this whole show on my computer . he does talk to timothy spall
I had that video! And I was LAUGHING at his mispronounciation. But I figured he did the hip thing -- when forced to study a foreign language, he went for spanish, not french.
