I love how he talked about how people told him it would be to hard to become an actor and he considered becoming a lawyer,"Why am giving up on my primary dream to work doubly hard to do something as an alternative to what I really still want to do?"....Just remember that quote people! Don't give up on your dreams ever!!! Even if people don't believe you can do it, go for it anyway, even if its not conventional.
Long time American fan here.I discovered this Gem of an actor around 2005,and have loved his work ever since.Intelligent, articulate, sexy and humble, also known as Good Lord, hep meh:) What an awesome person!Keep up the fantastic work Mr.C,we love it and you for bringing real class back to Hollywood!
"Here's some breaking news; my coffee's lovely." His voice is what did it for me. Haven't laughed so hard in months... yes... months. Thanks so much for posing!
Mr. Cumberbatch is a lovely actor and a nice man. I fell in love with him (as an actor) when I saw Sherlock BBC and what nailed me as a permanent fan are his roles in the movies "Atonement" and "Small Island". I just ordered "Third Star" and "Stuart: A Life Backwards" on dvd.
I finally got around to watching Star Trek and am now obsessed with him. I dragged Sherlock out as long as I could when I realized there was only three episodes a season and am now wondering what I should watch next...
I love Sherlock. I was hesitant because I loved the books and I'm always "eh" about updated versions... but my arm was twisted by people I trust, and it's seriously the most faithful to the stories... hehe-
All right who else started singing in their heads " Your everlasting summer you can see it fading fast, so you grab a piece of something that you think is gonna last" ?
The combination of THAT VOICE and the fact that he can converse intelligently is like catnip to every thinking woman. Both he and Martin Freeman are appealing not only as men but just as human beings.
I hate how reporters begin with explaining/selling "Sherlock" with how modern it is. Once you've seen the show the modernization falls to the back of your mind; it's not a gimmick, it's just true to the spirit of the original stories.
I'm American and just recently (not that recently) found Ben through Stephen Hawking. I never noticed it was him. I just typed in Benedict Cumberbatch once and now my computer expects me to type it. It's a disease worth having.
Cumberbatch was in this movie "Amazing Grace"...so, so, so, delicious...... Ok, silliness aside, Why is it that most of the British actors are mind-boggling-ly, beyond-amazingly good at what they do but most of them are so down to earth and humble..compared to many of the American actors...
I am an American. But hey I am just 1 of 314,000,000 people. And I have told my parents, and my friends who in turn told their parents, Who have told their family. Word will get out eventually.
Well its a matter of personal taste. There are some British actors that are arrogant & do not come off as very good actors, just as there are some amazing British actors like Mr Cumberbatch here. Its all in the eye of the beholder.
