Have watched the series Sherlock multiple times, just really enjoy watching his craft grow and expand. He will go on for many more I am sure ♥Another iconic British actor ♦♥♣♠
Even when the first time I watched him on Sherlock, I knew that his talent is Hollywood-worthy. I share the feeling with you. I've never been so happy seeing an actor grows before my eyes.
I could listen to him speak all day and all night. He is an exceptional actor, seems to be a respectable family man, and has done quite well for himself! Carry on.
I love any performance that Benedict has participated. I have followed his acting since I first saw him in Sherlock. I admire his passion for his craft and you can see it in his acting. It’s a shame that Martin and Benedict are no longer close colleagues due to comments by viewers. They both had a special working relationship in Sherlock-that’s why Sherlock was such a success. Martin and Benedict had the chemistry; both contributed to Sherlock.
I love him as an actor but my favourite performance of his will always be Captain Martin Crieff in the BBC Radioplay "Cabin Pressure". Having met the man in 2013 I can confirm that he is as nice as they come and that he is such a chatterbox. I love him to pieces and hope to see him work for a very long time.
I loved To the Ends of the Earth, Van Gogh, Sherlock (of course), Dr. Strange, Tinker Taylor, Character of Smaug, The Imitation Game (brilliant!), The Courier, The Power of the Dog.
I am in Eugene, Oregon. Born and raised in San Diego, retired Architect from San Francisco. I will always applaud your incredible dedication to your craft.
You suspend disbelief and develop your characters into tangible living beings by your expression and subtle body ( sometimes not) language. Many times tragic and beautiful at the same moment. Quite extraordinary. Your voice is mesmerizing and controlled, deep and resonant.
Actually I have only seen him in a few, but all of them are top notch. Hard to pick. I heard him first in The Hobbit, saw him first in Star Trek , then as Doc. Strange..... But it we are being picky, probably Doctor Strange friggin hilarious. 😊👍
def Hawking, Amazing Grace, the obscure The Last Enemy(a TV mini series) , Sherlock ofc, and The Imitation Game. I like his Strange, a good role for him .
I don't think I knew Ben's work before 'Sherlock'. Your bio-doc has enlightened me as to the magnitude of his career thus far. Thanks...so many 'must-see' performances!
I have enjoyed him since Sherlock series when my son and I would wait for and watch together. The program was so much fun to watch and see if we could figure out the killer. When he did Dr Strange it was such a treat to see him along with Benedict Wong together..I mean how many Benedicts are there? I just really enjoy seeing him work.I loved that his parents played his parents in Sherlock and was heart broken when his landlady passed away in real life and to find out that she and his mother were great friends..So happy he has a wife and children now..
I have never in my life followed an actor watched everything he did and watched all his interviews, but I did that with him. I was shocked at my behavior. He’s easily the best actor of his generation and absolutely one of the best actors to ever grace our screens.
When does this man find time to eat and sleep ? Wow ! How many films, TV and theater performances has he done. I'm tired just thinking about the energy that takes. Bravo !
Sherlock, Imitation Game, Dr. Strange, Kahn in Star Trek... He is brilliant in every role. He is great as a voice actor too ( Smaug) ☺ I saw Him in Hamlet years ago. His performance was wonderful.
Шерлок в исполнении Бенедикта самый лучший Шерлок из всех экранизаций! Бенедикт вообще прекрасный актер большого дарования и по- моему, очень хороший человек ❤❤❤
EXCELLENT WORK!!! Small adjustment however - When introducing the movie the 'Mauritanian' you incorrectly spoke 'Martian' which is a different movie and actor. Honest mistake :-)
Idk why the thing I found funniest is that he got dysentery. Descendent of Richard lll and literally read the eulogy at his reburial? Lame. Dysentery? Hilarious
Martin wasn't invited to Benedict's wedding at all, let alone as the best man. There are some more innacuracies, but otherwise it's a decent biography. Thanks!
Actually he is not a descendant of Richard 3rd, he is the descendent of his niece Elizabeth who married Henry 7th, he is also a descendant of the Stewart's and the Bruce's , of Dutch royalty and French and German oh and the Habsberg family too, I should know he is my cousin and so am I , I also as a child had auburn hair but it darkened to a very dark red that just looks brown till the sun hits it , that's from the Tudor line, Margaret Tudor is our ancestor and Mary queen of Scott's oh and obviously James 1at of England and scotland, we are related on my mother's side she is basically European royal descent on all sides
I could remember when that reporter woman came to Barbados and did an interview with me and some of my family, we are Cumberbatches, your family leave my family without generational wealth to pass down to my children and there children, children I still struggling today, u need to help me
I watch Ben perform in the few movies I have seen and I like them all. You will see as he is the real person in the movies and not just acting. I will watch all his movies if I get the chance to see him in netflix or youtube as I can't go anywhere any farther than my home.
so, he is a descendant of King Richard III, and he played King Richard III in the Hollow Crown?? lmao, was that intentional when they picked him for the role or...??
MY NAME. IS. KHAN!!!! Heh not quite as good as original Khan. However, Benedict made the role his own and it was a juicy role. His other major role can only b Doctor Strange. I've not seen him as Sherlock, but I do plan to do so in due course.
You totally mispronounce the name Gatiss. The emphasis should be on the first syllable, which according to the man himself should be pronounced Gay, because that's what he is.
Excuse me? Alan Turing condemned to homosexuality? No. He was condemned because he was gay. That was something that was simply a part of who he was, not an affliction to be "cured." You need to program your AI do to better in these profiles.
@@lynnnorbury4424 no need to be sorry, your opinion means nothing. 😅 He’s a critically acclaimed actor that actual critics and millions of people around the world agree is a phenomenal actor.
Videos about really interesting, talented people like Benedict Cumberbatch where you never get to hear them speak. Not acceptable. Could it be because the cheapskates at Biographer are too mean to pay the commercial rights to their film clips so they can't broadcast them with sound? That's why the irritating American 'car salesman' voice has to quote everything that is said in the clips. There is a clear message in the mere 88K subscribers; heavens, there's a grandma cooking pasta sauce on RU-vid with double the subscribers than Biographer. Imagine if you actually had the voices of the huge stars you have images of... ah, but then again you'd have to shell out for that. You'd have to sell more advertising. Nah, don't bother. Not on my account... I'm outta here...
I became a fan slowly, but now, I think he's great. And he seems like a truly nice guy, too. He's done a great job in every character he has portrayed. Good thing he didn't choose Arnold as his last name! I don't think Americans would warm up to a Benedict Arnold! One was one more than we wanted! LOL. And I think his female fans should be called Cumberbunnies, not what they are called now. Just a thought.
The poor man tried so hard to convince the fans to change the name and it just stuck. 😂 He’s a phenomenal actor and I became a fan without even realizing and watched almost everything he did.
This was a very accurate and complete list of his work....except, you failed to mention Parades End, one of his best. By the way, Sherlock and Patrick Melrose are my favorites.
Hey, thanks for you content. I couldn't put down watching it! It's marvelous. Benedict inspires me to step forward, to read and criticize the world. And your contribution to share with the world all the complexity of lives of this terrific people. Thank you
Correction: He is not a direct descendant of Richard III. He is a descendant of the Plantagenets and thus related to Richard III. He is very closely related to him, though. That was mentioned in the articles around the time he played Richard III. This is the 2nd video where I've heard this, so had to correct it. It's funny how people's memories work. Fabulous actor. Just love him! ❤
Sooo lots of good history here… (minus one massive omission noted below) but good lawd son you need a new writer. There are so many grammatical gaffs and awkward segues I don’t even know where to begin. It sounds like you hired a writer who writes in another language and then feeds it through Google Translate. Bad writing. Just bad. Edit: 38:17*face palm* Dr. Strange made him famous “in Hollywood” in 2016????? How can this biography completely skip over his role as the infamous Star Trek Villain Khan Noonien Singh A.K.A. “KKKKHHHAAANNNN” in 2013’s “Star Trek Into Darkness”???? This put him “on the map” in Hollywood.
That would be my match made in heaven: My favourite actor of all times, performing together with my favourite band member of all times (David Gilmour), from my favourite band of all times (Pink Floyd), at my favourite venue of all times (Royal Albert Hall), playing my favourite song of all times (Comfortably Numb), which happens to have my favourite guitar solo of all times.
this is excellent but you do get a good bit wrong. No way Martin Freeman would have ever been his best man. Fantasy, not fact. Sherlock's writer is Mark Gatiss- Gate isss, not Gateese. His ex-girlfriend was Olivia Poulet, pool-lette not poulay. She's not French. Don't you do your homework first? You showed him with his second child & called it his first. Check out real names & facts next time.
Isn't it written "exemplary"? Or is that just me...? Otherwise, I like Benedict most as Sherlock, although Dr Strange, Smaug and his role in the War Horse are pretty good too. Makes sense. Their views on these things greatly differ, and Cumberbatch could have had a little more tact.
such a huge fan of him since watch sherlock! then I fall harder when I watch him in Patrick Melrose! his acting skills is phenomenal ❤️ I always comeback watch Patrick Melrose specifically because of how good he portray the character ♥️
