I hope she and Joji collaborate again, Afterthought is one of my faves on Nectar. Sort of wish he sang the female vocals of the original in this cover, but I prefer this one to the original. LOVE YOU BENEE!
Gotye's version had a lot of anger and frustration in his tone, and I vibe with that a lot. But Benee's take on this has more sadness and disappointment, makes me feel like giving her a hug. I love this
this song has similar vibes to this song and I think ya'll would like it, check it out and have a great day! :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-69yKGblo20U.html

Now and then I think of when we were together Like when you said you felt so happy you could die I told myself that you were right for me But felt so lonely in your company But that was love, and it's an ache I still remember [Verse 2] You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness Like resignation to the end, always the end So when we found that we could not make sense Well, you said that we would still be friends But I'll admit that I was glad it was ovеr [Chorus] But you didn't have to cut me off Make out likе it never happened and that we were nothing And I don't even need your love But you treat me like a stranger, and that feels so rough No, you didn't have to stoop so low Have your friends collect your records and then change your number I guess that I don't need that though Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now you're just somebody that I used to know [Verse 3] Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over But had me believing it was always something that I'd done But I don't wanna live that way Reading into every word you say You said that you could let it go And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know [Chorus] But you didn't have to cut me off Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing And I don't even need your love But you treat me like a stranger, and that feels so rough No, you didn't have to stoop so low Have your friends collect your records and then change your number I guess that I don't need that though Now you're just somebody that I used to know [Outro] Somebody (I used to know) Somebody (Now you're just somebody that I used to know) Somebody (I used to know) Somebody (Now you're just somebody that I used to know) Somebody Somebody Somebody
I was shopping today with my daughter in H&M and this track came on, I love the original but this gives it a new twist. Loved it so much I quickly jumped on RU-vid to find who it was singing 😍 my new fave track to play 💃 I think she’s amazing!!!
The funny thing is that yesterday, I looked into Gotye since I was curious about what he was up to and today this was recommended to me! I’ve enjoyed Benee’s music for a while so this is an awesome crossover! :)
BENEE es una de las únicas artistas que logró que me gustaran todos sus temas, espero que en un futuro no lejano ella gane un grammy porque se lo merece.
I hated the original song (didn't make it better that it played everywhere). Now this dropped on my playlist and I absolutely love it. Also, I'm very impressed that Benee with her usually 'playful' voice can act so soft and calm in this song.
I've been subscribed to BENEE ever since 'Glitter', and I knew she was going to be a big star and it happened. Good job! Um, sorry if my english bad. It's my third language.
Lately I find myself listening again and again her songs. I connect with her sound; It's kind of meditation especially useful when drawing. My favorite singer and composer nowadays definitely.

holy fuckin fuck, i just heard this 6 months after a 6 year relationship breakup..... and this version hits DIFFERENT, its like hearing the whole song for the first time again *o* she said we would be friends but hasnt spoke to me.. but im glad its over because it was a toxic relationship... now im on 1 big bottle of vodka and a pack of ciggys a day (sad music and crying kinda helps tho, but the addicted to a certain kind of sadness hit harddd) and homeless but always making music so im trying to embrace dem sad vibes. big up benee loved the original but i prefer the tone of this one, too gooood
