I was 50kg overweight and I know how hard it can be to lose weight. I always knew this was "my creation". I love healthy foods, I am a good cook and when emotional triggers were activated I would make an extra trip to the supermarket in the evening to buy junk food and binge eat 2000 - 3000 kcal in an hour. I am not a victim, I am the creator and decided to work on my traumas and to face my issues. It takes courage but I decided I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life dependant on medication, welfare and hate myself whenever I looked into the mirror. This is my journey in self love and giving myself kindness every day. It's so rewarding.
He's so gross, and totally capable of clea ongoing himself. In Australia you'd never get benefits for being fat, they get away with way too much over there. 😳
Having an 18 year old thats morbidly obese is child abuse imho! Its not right that they sit at home and eat on the state's dime! A struggling single mom needs a hand temporarily for sure but its not meant to be a way of life!!
If you can sit on your couch and watch TV, you can sit on a chair and work a desk job. Someone who is truly too fat to work would be someone who literally can’t move and needs professional help for every small movement.

Also it annoys me them saying that it’s too expensive to eat healthy. There are plenty of supermarkets that sell the fresh food for close to nothing at the end of the day or at the certain time. Clearly if you’re unemployed you can invest some time in hanging around the shop and wait for the products to be reduced.

I'm overweight too, BUT I don't blame the State or anyone/anything else. It's ME who put the food into my mouth! And I don't ask or expect the gov't to pay me for the inability to work due to my weight. The US welfare system is better in this respect.
The government is making these people lazy. The government should be tough on them, or at least they should work for the government, even from their own homes.
Obviously the 'system' has failed by enabling this mindset of blaming everyone but themselves for their body size. The government would help all these people and the public purse if they issued food stamps for good food, no rubbish & some sort of therapy to support and encourage a change of lifestyle.

As someone living on little… its not hard or very expensive to eat relatively healthy on a budget, HOWEVER, it requires effort and actually cooking your meals from scratch. I have a feeling thats part of the problem. They want the quick and simple food and that is definitely unhealthy. Oh. And portion control, portion control portion control
I lived in the far east, Indian style cooking is easy to learn. Chick peas, lentils, onions and garlic are cheap. So is flour. You can grow coriander on your window ledges and tomatoes or bell peppers. I’d refuse to buy coke for Amy. What’s she going to do. Run to the shops for a refill? The mother is party to her daughter’s demise imho.

I wish the commentator would say “they’re receiving benefits because they’re fat and think they can’t work”. She said something similar without stating that they could work but choose not. I’m fat. I have lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and Raynaud’s and my fat ass-sore ass gets up everyday to go to work. It’s definitely not easy but I’ll work until I can’t walk.
Samez I have lupus and put on weight thanks to the steroids. The chronic pain is disabling 😭 Most days I wish I didn't have to wake up, I have seizures, nerve issues, fibro, Addison's, and I STILL go to work. Seriously hate these people. Lazy good for nothing leaches 😡

What type of benefits do yall have there? I'm in the US we have foodstamps and social services help with certain bills and housing but housing can take long time I had a friend on the list for yearsss before she finally got a place

I'm not sure why I keep watching shows like this - that just anger me. Glutton for punishment... no pun intended. "...weddings are expensive..." - they CAN be, or you could just go to city hall.
Considering how short-lived marriages seem to be these days, City Hall would be an economical option. I've met people who hate each other after a year of marriage but stay together because of the sunk cost fallacy. "Darling, the photos alone cost $2000. You are not going anywhere!"
@@damongirl66 The issue is, usually the women want that 'perfect day' (which rarely lasts into the marriage as you stated) They all THINK it's forever and of course, sometimes it is... but rarely these days. I was married before. We were together 10 years prior. Marriage broke down within 5-7 years after. I now have a great guy for 16 years and we have NO plans on getting married.... I dunno why, but that 'married' moniker seems to jinx things... or maybe I just think that way. Each to their own.

I think it's a waste of money that could be spend on a holiday to places where two people's wits are challenged as a couple. A reverse honeymoon without the expectations of instant wedded bliss not unlike a reality show but their experience would be the real thing, not scripted. I've known of a few couples who lived in sin* for years, got married and then fell out of love not long after. I hate people saying that eating healthy is more expensive than eating junk food. It's not true! A small pack of chicken nuggets and a bag of chips can get you 2 × 1kg bags of broccoli or even more of the less expensive veggies. I eat no junk at all and I can even easily afford fish and meat and I pay less for food than most people 😅😅😅
After visiting London recently (from the US) with my daughter, I’ve been binge watching a lot of UK-based shows. Our countries are alike in many ways but wow the UK is quite unique. I enjoyed my holiday there and look forward to the next trip.
I'm a Brit' living in the US. I take the bus every day to work. Some might say that I'm "too old" to work but there it is. I do intermittent fasting and low carb during the day to keep my weight in check. It'd be SO EASY to become big because I too love carbs and junk food just as much as the next person. Gotta be honest, I'm not feeling optimistic about the future for these folks. They've got how long? They could drop dead at any moment. It's very sad. Go on keto people and cook from scratch. You'd lose weight and not be so hungry to boot. So frustrating to watch.

I'm at a lose for words. I was obese. I've lost over 100 pounds. I got tired of being heavy I got off my butt and started walking and working out. I never got benefits or anything. I still eat crap but not even close to the amount I used to.
Yup…walking just one mile a day can make a difference too. I weighed 35 pounds more than I was supposed to and I started walking a mile or two a day and the weight gradually came off. This is why I take my nieces and nephews out when I walk my dogs.
I've worked all by life and I have no time for benifits scroungers, but I wish we could have programmes about billionaires and millionaires who don't pay hardly any tax considering how much their have.

A LOT of millionaires pay nothing - individuals and businesses. Pay themselves hardly anything in wages, paid themselves dividends at a lower rate, write off whatever they can, move money off shore, use loans to reduce profits. Google for instance. There are years when they have paid nothing. It's obscene. I have business people in my family. Their accountant's job is to minimise their tax. They do not pay tax like we do.

@@SC....... Obviously there needs to be an incentive to create wealth, but paying zero or 2 or 3% of your earnings is taking the piss. Can you imagine a person on an average wage trying to tell the tax office they'll be paying such a small amount of tax? No, but that is what Google did in the UK. They negotiated to pay peanuts after moving all profits offshore. It's not the millionaires or billionaires fault. It's up to the government to close loopholes which allow such practices. If you are running a multi million dollar business and paying no tax in the last 20 years you have no business running a business. For instance mining companies in Australia pay tax on what they take out the ground regardless of what profit they do or do not make. There is more awareness of this issue in the last few years. The system needs to seen to be fair.

I've been off work for two months due to a surgery. I'm not rich at all but I definitely won't claim benefits even though I definitely could with two teenagers. I've used most of the savings I had for emergency but it feels good to pay my own way.
The benefits system is exactly in place for people like you, it wasn't originally designed for those who can't be arsed, it was set up as a safety net for people who can't for periods of time. Claim benefits and don't use your savings.
That pride is not fair to your children. I knew a married couple that didnt feed their 3 kids enough yet wouldnt apply for food benefits bc pride. Finally one of the girls was diagnosed through the school w malnutrition/anorexia and they began giving her free lunches...the very next year she became pregnant dropped out of school and has been in a cycle of more children and social benefits ever since. She wanted to " be a better parent" than hers were..
Not physically, but..... Physical issues set aside, issues that in general seems somewhat lacking among the participants of these benefits programs like qualifications, responsibility, self discipline, dependability and such do matter for employers
I’m not too fat to work but I still have a list of serious health problems that are preventing me from working. Every time I try to work, I wind up sick in the hospital. One of my problems is that I don’t have a working pituitary and that is usually fatal. I have to take a bus 17 different medications a day. I spent about 31 years in the workforce and I do miss it. I took a lot of pride in my work but, unfortunately, those days have passed. It’s sad.

As an American.....I actually for the most part find these people full of it. For the record I have significant spine issues that cause a lot of pain. When I say a lot...I mean it. I'm overweight because of it. However, it doesn't stop me, unless I let it. The more I move the better my degenerative spine feels. The bulging disc occasionally protests...but I have heard similar. Then if you take in my shoulder...
I have been taking collagen, I have done physical therapy, and I have e had steroid epidural injections. I do what is best because I don't want to be over weight. I don't want to hurt. So far.. it helps for a bit.
I'll never understand why they are approved to be on welfare. Would never happen in Australia. Yeah we have the dole but disability is incredibly difficult to get and so it should be, being fat like they are isn't a disability
Please she’s doing something about it. I have to admire her because surgery is no easy thing. The hospital I work they do a lot of bariatric surgery and there’s a lot of complication it’s not all good so she’s taking a risk.
It really annoys me how much of a joke Amy thinks this all is. That smile would soon be wiped off her face if she had no money from the benefit system. She needs to get serious and take responsibility for her weight. Maybe then she can get a job like everyone else.
Any self-destructive behavior is generally caused by physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, trauma and/or poverty. Self-destructive behavior takes many forms including, gambling, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, sexual and food addictions. These people in the video have extreme issues, diet and exercise aren't the answer until the mental health problems are worked on.
@@Reagans_JellyBeans Sure it does, but you have to want improvement. Self-destructive behavior starts in the mind, any hope for a lasting change in behavior has to start with mental health care.
Almost every study I've ever read says diet and exercise can significantly impact mental health. The two aren't always 100% related but you are right about the fact that these ppl definitely have mental health issues. Sad.
@@Dl-mg3ow You can ban all the bars and casinos in the world but that won't stop addicts. Same is true of delis and fast-food places, an addict will still find some way to get their drug of choice. The only way I see of curbing any addiction issue is to educate people by putting money into early childhood intervention projects. A damaged home environment with kids is just going to lead to problems down the road for kids raised in a bad home and society.
Just one time that I had to have someone come to my home to “Wash” me would be enough of an embarrassment that I’d get my Life in order… Steve is pathetic. Loose some weight, do some exercises… do something.
