Addictive Wellness Astragalus Root Extract Powder: www.addictivew...
Astragalus was one of the first tonic herbs I discovered In my late teens and it continues to be one of my top favorites to this day!
It's such a powerful yet gentle Qi tonic, supporting your own natural energy production rather than just being a stimulant like caffeine.
Have you tried astragalus before? What has your experience been?

I started using it years ago to Protect me from whooping cough because a roommate had it. I never got whipping cough and so I have used it used it on and off over the years. When kovid hit 2 years ago I bought it again and started taking it in tonic form every morning. It sits on my countertop. I've never gotten covid yet.

Well done, Sage. Your overview is thorough, a good introduction for many of us exploring natural remedies to bolster our immune system not just during this crisis but into future years of wellness also. I currently use astragalus in OTC tincture form and hope you will comment about that in comparison to the methods you mentioned. Finally, please keep your informative videos coming!

Hi Barbara, wow, thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and kind comment! I really appreciate it and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. You're absolutely right, a robustly healthy immune system is something to cultivate continuously throughout one's life. Tinctures can be a great way to consume herbs, especially if you hold them under the tongue for 30-60 seconds before swallowing to maximize the absorption. There are, of course, tinctures of high quality and tinctures of questionable quality, so it's hard to make a broad sweeping statement about tinctures in general. I often prefer extract powders because you generally get more bang for your buck, but tinctures can be a fun way to mix it up! Out of curiosity, are there any topics or specific herbs you'd like to see covered in future videos?

Addictive Wellness, thanks for responding. Personally, I am most interested in herbs that boost mood and energy. So far I have had good luck with eleuthero & ashwagandha and would love to know more about panax ginseng. Secondly, I want to keep my brain and memory sharp, so bacopa & ginkgo biloba are also on my study list. And why not rhodiola, as it seems to span both categories? I think that during this corona crisis many others would want information to address anxiety/depression and sleep issues. (I’m a psychologist and that is the buzz I’m getting.). You present your material well and I think we could all learn a lot from you. And if you ever get into the beneficial mushrooms, that would be great too! Best of luck with your endeavors. ~Barbara

What about the anti aging benefits and the lengthing of telomeres?
@addictivewellness
@addictivewellness 3 года назад
Thanks for your comment! I have no doubt that taking astragalus would have a positive effect on longevity. Many people associate astragalus with telomere lengthening because of TA 65, but the reality is that one would have to consume kilos of astragalus everyday to get the same amount of these telomere lengthening compounds found in that product

@@falconone7230 Yeah, tough to fit in the budget, that's for sure! I think for that money, there's many other supplements and therapies that could do more for you. Also, there are some concerns about long term risks of TA65 that have come up over the years as well.

Telomeres? Look into beta glucans of the 1,3- 1,6 or 1,3D strains found in various strains of algae, yeast, or mushrooms such as Chaga mushrooms, reishi mushrooms, cordyceps mushrooms, turkey tail mushrooms.

I get it. How God built our body as one wall of garrison to fend off our enemies? With all our soldiers standing guard at all times to attack those who attack us? I'm not well-verse in describing it but this is.only on the physical realm. However we are created in the image and likeness of God who is a Spiritual Being so He must have given us Spiritual foods and Spiritual defenses to guard our soul from the attacks of the evil ones trying to sever our birthright from our Creator. Have a blessed day!

Any negative effects on kidneys, liver, cardiovascular? Should it be cycled or is it safe taken continuously, long-term? If it's immunostimulatory, how safe is it if the body is at a heightened immune stimulating state?
@addictivewellness
@addictivewellness 2 года назад
No, it's actually beneficial for kidneys, liver and cardiovascular system :) (As long as you don't have an autoimmune disease.) And it is one of the best herbs for continuous long term use.
@kenstephens7747
@kenstephens7747 2 года назад
@@addictivewellness This is the king of the kidney tonics actually. This stuff increases blood flow to the kidneys, and it's lack of proper blood flow over time that does them in. As far as its effect on autoimmune conditions, the natural stuff actually serve as more of a modulator, seeking more balance, and autoimmunity isn't too strong immunity per se it is misdirected immunity where it becomes exposed to foreign antigens by way of things like leaky gut and vaccines, coaxing it to attack healthy tissue. So we need to treat that and astragalus can at least be supportive as we look to direct our immunity more toward a balanced and healthy state. The idea of looking to suppress immunity to address autoimmunity is yet another broken idea that simple minded medicine falls for. Beta glucans are great for stimulating immunity for instance but one of the very best things to take to balance it. The concern here is how astragalus may interact with the toxic meds the MDs prescribe, and that's the real reason why people are told to speak to their doctor if they are on such meds.
