Fasting doesn't mean starving yourself for God. Fasting has many benefits. There are many types of fasting like Intermittent fasting for health, fasting on ekadashi for spiritual growth and many more.
In this this video I'm sharing with you guys how fasting changed my life.
Hope you'll enjoy :)

I am that Obese guy in the video. I did lose around 15kgs within those 3 months. going down from 87kgs to 72kgs. Even you look much healthier and active now!! I have been practicing Intermittent Fasting for more than 5 years straight now. And I prefer the 16:8 fast. Losing weight is not the only benefit of IF, but has many other benefits too. And remember our ancestors never had any breakfast, and the term "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" was a lie propagated by cereal companies (Kellog's) in the early 1900's. Even Doctors today suggest people suffering from overweight, laziness, high blood pressure , diabetes, heart disorders any many more issues to practice Intermittent Fasting.

@@shatofor100 Yoga does not believe in torturing the body, it is not a masochistic affair, but it believes in purifying it. And, sometimes, purifying it and torturing it may look alike. A distinction has to be made. A man can fast and he may be only torturing himself.. He may just be against his own body...suicidal, masochistic. But then another man can fast and he may not be a torturer; he may not be a masochist and he may not be trying to destroy the body in any way. Rather, he may be trying to purify it...because in deep fasting, the body attains certain purities. You continuously go on eating every day; you never give any holiday to the body. The body goes on accumulating many dead cells - they become a load. Not only are they a load and a burden, they are toxins; they are poisonous. They make the body impure. When the body is impure you cannot see the hidden body behind it. This body needs to be clean, transparent, pure; then suddenly you become aware of the second layer, the subtle body. When the subtle body is pure then you become aware of the third body, and the fourth, and so on. Fasting helps tremendously but one needs to be very aware that one is not destroying the body. No condemnation should be in the mind; and there is the problem because almost all religions have condemned the body. Their original founders were not condemners; they were not poisoners. They loved their bodies. They loved the body so much that they always tried to purify it. Their fasting was a purification. Then came blind followers, unaware of the deep science of fasting. They started fasting, blindly. They enjoyed it because the mind is violent. It enjoys being violent with others. It enjoys a power...because whenever you are violent with others you feel powerful. But to be violent with others is risky because the other will retaliate. Then there is a simple way: to be violent with your own body. Then there is no risk. The body cannot retaliate, the body cannot harm you. You can go on harming your own body; there is nobody to react. This is simple. You can torture and enjoy power - that now you control your body; the body doesn’t control you.

Same here, I used to think that fasting was for pleasing God for fulfilling selfish desires. So I was all against it. But this year 2020, after doing some research on how and whys of fasting, I did fasting. (On Ekadashi too) And the results were amazing.. as you mentioned.. our body doesn't require the amount of food we normally stuff into our stomach unconsciously. Moreover, we our mind works so well during fasting days or the days when we eat healthy food at just the right amount. 😇 I really like the ' Isha 'way of living.. 😇 eating two meals a day. 🙏✌️

Yes, fasting is very healthy. Even animals animals when they are sick, fast for few days, wild animals and pets also. Body needs to use all energy for healing, not digestion, also needs rest. I am fasting also on Ekadashi, used to fast on some other days (it was Jyotish remedy in that period of time) and nice results are always there. It becomes easier after Inner engineering online. Btw, you are so adorable and cheerful, i enjoy your videos so much. Greetings from Croatia

I used to get sick quite a lot, almost with every change of season. Around 4 years ago I stopped taking allopathic medicines almost entirely; haven't taken a single pill in almost 3 years now. I started to let my body heal by itself, which usually took around 48 hrs - but my energy levels dropped significantly. After I did the IEO in April this year, I started UpaYoga, Isha Kriya and quite recently fasting on Ekadashi. Just a month ago I got a viral fever with 102°F, and my body got cured within a day. Slowly realising the potential of the most complex chemical factory - our body.

Great video! I have a couple of questions! So do you skip breakfast everyday for intermittent fasting? Just lunch and dinner right? Ayurveda says fruits are important for nutrition and diet and suggest early morning for breakfast as best time to have fruit. So how do you incorporate fruit with this lifestyle? Maybe as snack between lunch and dinner from time to time? Also its okay to have detox drinks early morning like turmeric tea etc right? You should just skip solid food for breakfast? Thank you so much for any insight! Good channel! I will subscribe!

My experience with the viral flu is to eat well during this time to provide the necessary strength for the body to create antibodies to fight the virus. Ginger, honey and Vegetable + chicken soup will assist as well. Having said this, I agree that fasting is definitely recommended for a normal healthy person.

I did this intermittent fasting for a few years because I would wake up late and be late for school if I ate anything. I had great energy and felt very strong despite being underweight. The problem was that any muscle or weight gain required force feeding to the point of physical pain and near vomiting on a daily basis, with little effect. I started eating breakfast to gain muscle, and it did work, I no longer needed to force feed to maintain my weight, and I got even stronger. Does this whole inner engineering and spirituality stuff dramatically slow down your metabolism or something?

True.... for everyone. Japanese cell biologist Yoshinori Ohsumi won the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2016 for his research on how cells recycle and renew their content, a process called autophagy. Fasting activates autophagy, which helps slow down the aging process and has a positive impact on cell renewal.

Hi Shato I have a question that’s really important to me, does Sadhguru teach any technique that you can do constantly all the time, like while standing, sitting, just throughout the day. As I need something that would keep me balance. Please reply!

No! What you need to do constantly is keep breathing. The 21 min shambhavi meditation is enough to make anyone balanced all day. Or try Isha kriya meditation from sadhguru app.

Sis... I just started my journey through Inner Engineering. I am a Bangali woman too. Same food habit problem occurring with me. I hardly find option for veg meal... and also my family don't want to accept that I am trying to have veg meal.... I want to join u and wish to know your journey about how u gradually converted urself from bengali non-vegetarian to vegetarian.. I already started having brunch and dinner after shambhavi.

You may be aware that in rushiprasad magzine of Aasaram Bapu importance of each and every ekadashi was given. It was few years back. If you get that information you will like it. My son also like Sadguru's lectures and trying to follow if possible.

Hi Shato, I found your chanel while looking info about rudraksha malas. Anyway my question to you is not on that. I was 120kg and after going ketogenic then carnivore (0 carb, only meat, fish, eggs, full fat cream and cheese ) diet and one meal a day diet i was able to go down to 88kg and my bp and sugars came down as well. Since i started listening to sadhguru , i stopped being a carnivore and started eating carbs and vegis. But i am back to 100kg. Most of the time i eat 2 meals a day but still not 100% vegetarian. Do you have any ideas how to become a vegetarian and loose weight for me? Thank you

Eat more vegetables. Start with a plate full of light steamed veggies. Then eat some cooked food with a balance of vegetables, dal and carbs. Follow the same pattern for dinner. No snacking. Drink warm water in between meals and in the morning as soon as you wake up. Good luck!
