Benefits of Forgiving Others - Mufti Menk 

I am so thankful allah gave me the ability to forgive

Assalaamu Alaikum to my brother , he's very knowledgable in the way he speaks, i enjoy listening to him Emery time.

I had an old friend who is non Muslim, we had a big fight. I admit I said hurtful things, and so did he. I tried to reconcile but he ignored me. I have forgiven him even though he didn’t ask for forgiveness, and I asked Allah to forgive me for the hurtful things I said to him. Holding a grudge is a terrible thing, you actually do feel the weight in the heart. You cannot make them ask for forgiveness, leave it in the hand of Allah, and seek forgiveness from Allah, he is the all knowing the most just. I was very upset, but I am now peaceful. May Allah grant everyone the capacity to forgive inshallah ❤️

I love how he quotes from the Qur'an as much as, if not more, than hadith.

Someone asked me to forgive him and after that started talking ....If you don't forgive Allah will get you stuck at some point in your life............And I was like .....Is he asking forgiveness or blackmailing me ????

What to do in a situation of the other person is not willing to listen Is very stubborn You have not done anything wrong and still asking him to forgive for the sake of Allah swt But he / she is stubborn and has too much ego and does not want to reconcile

I’ll Thank you I blessings to you

1) سُبْحَا نَ اللهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَخَلْقِهِ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ. Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, ai’dada khalqihi, wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‘ar shihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi. Reward: Recite 3 times = 6 hours of Dhikr 2) After every salah say: Alhamdulilah (33 times) SubhanAllah (33 times) Allahuakbar (33 times) لاَ اِلٰهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ وَ حْدَ هُ لَا شَرِ يْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِى وَ يُمِيْتُ وَ هُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ قَدِ يرْ (one time) ((Laa ilaaha illallaahu wah dahu laa shariika lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu yuhyii wa yumiitu wa huwa ‘ailaa kulli shayin qadiir)) Reward: say after every salah and your sins will be wiped away even if they were as large as the foam of the sea. 3) SubhanAllah سُبْحَانَ الله Reward: say 100 times a day and 1,000 Hasanah will be written for you or 1,000 sins will be wiped away. 4) سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَ بِحَمْدِ هِ Subhaanal-laahil ‘aathiimi wa bihamdihi Reward: say this and a date palm will be planted for you in Paradise. (In Shaa Allah) 5) لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa 'alaa kulli shay'in Qadeer. Reward: say 10 times and you will have the reward for freeing 4 slaves from the Children of Isma’il 6) اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ Allahuma inni as alukal jannah Meaning: Oh Allah, grant me Jannah Reward: say 3 times and Jannah itself will ask Allah to grant you Jannah 7) اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلَّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ Allahumma salli wa sallim 'alaa nabiyyinaa Muhammadin Reward: The Prophet saw said: "Who recites blessings upon me 10 times in the morning and 10 times in the evening will obtain my intercession on the Day of Resurrection.” 8) أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ 'A'oothu bikalimaatil-laahit-taammaati min sharri maa khalaqa Reward: Whoever recites this 3 times in the evening will be protected from insect stings. 9) سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihi Reward: Whoever recites this 100 times in the morning and in the evening will not be surpassed on the Day of Resurrection by anyone having done better than this except for someone who had recited it more. 10) بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الَْأرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ Bismillaahil-lathee laa yadhurru ma'as-mihi shay'un fil-'ardhi wa laa fis-samaa'i wa Huwas-Samee 'ul- 'Aleem Reward: Recite 3 times. Whoever recites it in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity before evening, and whoever recites it in the evening will not be overtaken by any calamity before morning. 11) حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَآ إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ Hasbiyallaahu laa 'ilaaha 'illaa Huwa 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Adheem Reward: Allah will grant whoever recites this 7 times in the morning or evening whatever he desires from this world or the next. 12) اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِر لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ Allaahumma Anta Rabbee laa ilaaha illaa Anta, khalaqtanee wa anaa 'abduka, wa anaa 'alaa 'ahdika wa wa'dika mas-tata'tu, a'oothu bika min sharri maa sana'tu, aboo'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa aboo'u bithanbee faghfir lee fa'innahu laa yaghfiruth-thunooba 'illaa Anta. Reward: Whoever recites this with conviction in the evening and dies during that night shall enter Paradise, and whoever recites it with conviction in the morning and dies during that day shall enter Paradise.

Assalamu alaikum. Thank you for these khutbas- they serve as very helpful reminders and reinforcement along the Path especially during the pandemic when social isolation became widespread. Could the Mufti find the time to address the growing problem of narcissism and how to deal with it especially if it’s a family member. Bearing in mind it might be a trauma response in itself - however the affect it has on those around it is very damaging. Often the person at the receiving end of the narcissist is prevented from fully being Muslim (eg. Prevented from marrying anyone, being treated poorly/like a possession or worse, a slave, no rights are respected, and so forth). This is a growing problem globally but no one on the Islamic community seems to want to address it in a scholarly and advanced manner. It’s all very superficial. Please guide the Ummah especially the women who seem to be disproportionately affected by such abusive behaviour amongst their spouses or fathers or even brothers. The love in the hearts of these men towards their duty to women gets lost somehow. The connection to Allah gets similarly lost. The women’s lives are destroyed for no reason. Sometimes even their Iman gets sidetracked as they cannot keep it alive through good acts due to the oppression. There are no winners in these relationship dynamics as far as one can tell. Please shed some light on this dark evil that seems to be emerging as a very widespread phenomenon people are only now waking up to. Thank you and jzk.

Listen to my hadith. Allah will forgive everything. You don't pray it is up to Allah to forgive you. You don't fast in ramadan it is up to Allah to forgive you. You drink alcohol, womanizer and gamble, it is up to Allah to forgive you. All the above are between you and Allah. . . But the only thing Allah cannot forgive you is . If you have cheated any person of there money. If you cheated your family people in property matters. If you have caused pain and suffering to other people because of your actions. All the above Allah cannot forgive unless the people whom you cheated and caused pain and suffering don't forgive you. So first and foremost ask forgiveness from all the people whom you cheated or caused suffering. And once you settle the dues of all this people then you can turn towards prayers, fasting, charity, Hajj etc to please Allah subhan wataallah and seek his forgiveness.
