Concerning depression, anxiety etc. - walnuts are excellent for helping with those things. Walnuts look like a brain for a good reason. 😊 The properties in walnuts are stronger and better for you than those found in Prozac or any other antidepressants.
We have 2 huge gingko trees. I have a tincture ready to use, and leaves dried , although I have not tried it yet as I wanted to have them ready for when I do my research. I do have both green and yellow leaves saved. So glad to see your video. Thank you so much for all you share.❤
I live in Maine. 5-6 years ago in the fall, I found some gingko trees that had been planted around a parking lot. While coming out of a store, I happen to look down and saw the unique leaves and immediately knew what they were. It only took a couple minutes to find the trees. They are hearty so they are used in landscaping around parking lots and in cities. You never know where you may come across one.
Ginko sounds like most people (unfortunately not all), the older we get, the more we have to offer. This info arrived to me at a perfect time. Thanks for the reminder of how awesome Ginko is.
I started taking Ginko Biloba to see if it would help my arthritis pain, I can't really say it did but I still take it because it made my manhood at 40 years old behave and function like I am 20 again so there ya go guys. Now I wasn't having problems before so I don't know if it would work for full blown ED but probably will since it took me 20 years back lol.
That is so true with doing your own research. It's impossible for anyone to know how your own body will react to something or a combination of things. One of the most important things I learned when dealing with Lyme and it's co-infections was how to read your own body. Start slow, keep a diary of how you are feeling. Add different herbs and supplements one or two at a time. Adjust as you go! And always, keep God in the equation when trying different things. It's through Him that we heal. He has provided us all we need! God bless!!
Oh my - I have AMD & glaucoma - I looked, and ginkgo can be grown in my zone (and doesn't interact with my meds) - time to get me a ginkgo biloba tree!!!
Gingko was a life saver for me when I was younger and had hormonal migraines. I bought the pure oil and would put a few drops under my tongue. My migraines had symptoms very similar to strokes.
I've got 2 young ginkgo trees I need to find a spot in the ground for here in the FL panhandle. Only 3-4ft tall at the moment. Seem to be doing good here in this environment. I recently saw a tree in another person's yard around 15ft tall or so that looked to be doing good in the ground as well. Really cool trees for sure. Very unique looking species. Hopefully I can get mine planted in the ground this winter while they are dormant. Sounds like they have some good uses. Look forward to trying it out in the future.
I started a gingko from seed years ago back in IN. I should start another. The only thing I had no way to know if it male or female from seed. Listening to this inspired me to act... I just ordered some seed...Yay!
Give that hubby of yours a hug, as a comfort for the memory of a nightmare job (I had one, I know) and then give him a high-five & do a happy dance because he's not there anymore - halleluia!!!!!
The LORD provided a way out for him, and it was all in HIS hands. I was at the point before that happened that I was betting him to quit, something I thought I would never do, but what good is it for him to stay if they totally destroy him? However, God's timing was perfect and it was such a blessing that he was able to take an early retirement. I was so relieved when that approval letter came in I broke down sobbing happy tears and praising the LORD for His faithfulness
I bought a 500g bag of dried gingko biloba along with gotu kola a few months ago mainly as vasodilators. I started with gingko 3 teaspoons in a cup of boiling water infused for 15 minutes. After a day or 2 I was remembering long and short term. That lasted until I finished it. I literally shook my head in amasement. Gotu Cola doesn't have the same effect for me. Thanks for your very informative videos.
I made tincture several ago but couldn't take it bc of drug interference. Not taking the drug anymore and would like to get back into this. Thanks for the confidence boost!
I have Reynauds Syndrome which has resulted in peripheral neuropathy that has become quite painful at night. I had been using Ginko in the winter for years to support circulation (vasodilator). This past year I’ve been using Ginko twice daily and it’s made a real difference in decreasing the pain in my feet and hands!
Cayenne can also help with circulation. Just be careful when using these things simultaneously so you don't become a bleeder. Garlic has blood thinning properties too.
Look into R Alpha Lipoic Acid. I did some research to help my dad's pain from neuropathy and his Dr readily approved. He's diabetic, high BP, on blood thinners, etc.
Years ago I suffered from 'hot feet', my feet would just burn, particularly in bed at night, so much so, that I took to wearing wet socks to bed to cool my feet. I heard that Gingko dilated blood vessels, improving circulation. I started taking Gingko Biloba supplement and from the first night I felt great relief. After only a week, no more 'hot feet'. Magic! Now I made my own tincture from leaves off the Gingko tree I planted in my garden.
You are so right Heidi, we never know if/when we might not have access to the internet. Taking hand written notes is one way of making sure the information we want to keep is not going to disappear & that its always close at hand
Amen Heidi on the antidepressants! and if the people can take it Ginkgo Biloba would be better; but people need to do research on this for their self. Heidi, I just started to take Ginkgo just a few days ago for my eye health too.
Thanks for this video. I made some ginkgo tincture years ago. I used green leaves from early Summer, and then I used the same alcohol from that tincture to re-tincture the golden Fall leaves. So it was a double tincture, and it came out very good!
I'm in my mid 50's and I have been taking Gingko Biloba supplements for several months now. I don't know if I can sight a change in my memory or overall brain health, but I will continue to take it until I determine if it is no longer "working" or if I discover side effects. My parents began taking it in their 50's as well. 🙂
I have a ginkgo tree about 20’ tall now. Saw your video & wanted to learn about when to harvest & what part of the tree. Missed this years leaves.🍁 but I’m glad it’s in the fall you gather them. (I would have thought 🍃 green leaves). For eye health I’ve read Cayenne pepper in the eye heals it. Now that said it had something to do with Dr. Christopher & another man in California that made a tincture with cayenne. Dr. C is mild compared to the other man in California. Have you heard of this treatment? I read this maybe 10 years ago
Did you know that the FDA take off Ginko Biloba off the market in 2004, because research shows that Ginko does not improve memory, but because Ginko sell really big they put it back on the market, but they tell them that they cannot claim that it improves memory, so they start to claim that Ginko is a aprodesiac, but for some reason people still claim that Ginko improve memory ,which is false.
I have no idea who told you that but it is incorrect information. You can find the studies from the National Institutes of Health that prove it does indeed help with memory: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3166615/ AND all you have to do is a search on Amazon or Vitacost and you will find Gingko supplements all over stating they help with cognition and memory: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3166615/ When you do your research, you cannot simply trust just one person or one source that makes anyone claim for or against. You need to do as I do when preparing for these videos and look at many sources from all sides.
@@RainCountryHomestead I start using Ginko way back in 1999 while in medical school and Ginko do nothing for my brains ,not even a buzz, anyone who want to continue to believe the Urban legend about ,Ginko and it's memory boosting powers can continue but you are living by illusion
@@Dwrankoheart Again, the science is there and you can read it for yourself, HOWEVER, not all herbs work the same for all people. As such, just because it did not work for you does not mean it is not helping many other people. Same goes for any type of herb for any type of condition. Some people find that Valerian helps with pain and helps them to sleep, and this is common, but there will be others in whom it does not work for at all. I could go on and on about many other herbs that work for some and not others. If it does not work for you, you keep trying until you find one that does but when something does not help a person, it does not mean it is a lie or an illusion that it does for others.
Yes, I see I forgot the link to the dried ginkgo so here that is amzn.to/3t3y85R but I cannot tell you where to find a tree other than your local nursery since I have yet to buy one.
I use it instead of plavix. When they day you can't take certain herb because of a medication then I'm pretty sure the herb can be used instead but i do research first.
Right. Sometimes it is also because the two combined can actually have a detrimental affect. Such as piling a couple of blood thinners on top of each other.
Thank you, Heidi! Ginkgo is one of my herbs of the week! 😁 I have a general tea question for you....that I've never seen the answer to. If you're supposed to have (for instance) 1 tsp of tea to a cup of water, 2 to 3 times a day...does that mean you can use the same 1 tsp, 2 to 3 times? Or do you need to start fresh each time?
I would assume you would start with a fresh batch each time though since I make whole pots of tea at a time, if I only drink half of it in the day, I will then add half as much more herbs and/or spices to what is already there, refill and heat again
Hey Heidi! 🤍✨️ I am a nursing mama, baby girl is 9 months. I have had brain fog like no other, and my memory is just going haha. I haven't found much info on if i can take this while nursing. I literally just made a tea and now I don't know if I should take it. Do you know any info on if it's okay while nursing? I'm not weary of taking things while nursing so.. 🤷🏻♀️
You can add whatever herbs you want to your syrup. However, do not add the herbs until after brewing the berries and any woody spices, mushrooms, or roots used (cinnamon, turkey tail, ginger, et cetera) and removing it from the heat. Add the herbs in at this point and allow it to steep until the mixture has cooled.
@@RainCountryHomesteadI made your syrup recipe several weeks ago to be ready for the cold weather and everyone loves it! It's pretty tasty. Most are using as preventative and I'll need to make more very soon. 😊
There are many herbs for all things. The question is what are you looking into it for. Memory/brain health? From what I understand it can take a few years for the tree to grow but my friends tree is only a couple of years old and while quite small still, she has been able to harvest leaves both this year and last.
Been feeding the hubby ginko supplement a few months for memory. No noticable difference at all, so I'm not buying again. He eats store butterfly shrimp, heated in the microwave again, how can I combat all his bad habits, his life, his choice.
@@MartaSpendowska tincture NOTED! trying krill oil for right now. Micro cannot be ditched, is combination of rangehood and microwave (we'd have to redo the kitchen.... besides when it comes to warming my rice bag 3 times a year 🙃 it is the best) Thankfully he does not use it on a daily, even monthly basis.
Can i pay you to teach me how to make colloidal copper because it doesn't come out blue like yours or can i but a gallon or 2 from you? Sorry comment is not pertaining to this video.
It does not have to be blue but if you go back and watch that video again and also read my reply to the comment you left, the only way it will turn blue is by adding an acid. It is not about necessarily wanting it blue, it is about speeding up the process so you do not have to run it as long
