Years ago my VA aunt had a Ginkgo Biloba tree growing in her yard (Tidewater). She was growing it because she appeared to have the beginning stages of dementia...to my knowledge she never used it as tea or any any type of medication...sad because it might have helped her. It was a beautiful tree and the leaves were so interesting.

Thank you for giving Ginkgo the love it deserves. When I was a kid we had a property here in Argentina with a 100 years old ginkgo in it, it was the best thing of the property, so majestic and beautifull. I was 7, and at my 40s I still remember it. Sadly the people who bought the house took it down, but made me love that ancient tree. I read that one of the reasons why it{s called "The tree of life", it´s because when Horoshima bombing happened, the only few trees that survived were Ginkgos.

I was studying in China for a few month (supposedly a year but covid strikes) and have the opportunity to witness the majestic gingko tree turning yellow and shedding. Although it can be quite an annoyance when there is strong wind and the campus is literally packed with the tree everywhere, on every roadsides within the campus growing for what seems to be only somewhere like 30cm apart from each other.

I love ginkgo trees! When I lived in San Jose CA. There was a street near my home that had ginkgo on both sides for a couple of blocks. When the leaves were falling, I loved driving down that street. It was like being in a boat that created beautiful gold waves. I would love to be able to take ginkgo for the memory aspects, but I am one of those people who are naturally free-bleeding and tend to bruise whenever I even rub up against something.

My Mom broke her leg and was given lots of drugs and then followed the “Virus” so her mind was not good. I gave her ginkgo three times a day (tincture) and her brain fog started to clear. It is essential for her and she is still using it. Nothing helps as much and we have tried a lot of others as well. I do understand it is a bit of a blood thinner so we keep that in mind.

I've learned a lot in the past two weeks while I wait for my next payday so I can get set up with my own apothecary homesteading herbalist journey 😊. Also watching you tend to bee's has given me a new found respect for bee's. I just can't have them here where I'm staying Because my roommate's husband is severely allergic to bee's. One sting could kill him in less than 30 minutes. So when I'm blessed with my own property I'm definitely going to have to attend a bee's school or whatever it's called because I want to be completely self sastainable. I think I spelled that wrong but I think you know what I'm trying to say hahaha 😂🤣. Till next time I'll be watching your RU-vid channel for more homesteading herbalist ideas 😊

I have a tree in my yard and I dug up a seedling and potted it in the early spring. It grew 4' over spring and summer. It's sweet little, bright yellow leaves just fell off and the big tree still has a plenty. Do you harvest the leaves when they are yellow or when they still have green on them? I really want to harvest some before it's too late, if it isn't already. Really guess I will need to research what to do with the harvest. I have only made a golden rod tincture so far, but really want to do more. Excited about your website and I really need a good starter book.

Hmmm … what you mentioned about the precautions. At the age of 69 this begins to sound like a disturbing refrain … (at least to my ears.) I read these precautions and know they are necessary … am grateful for them. But it also makes me a little sad. My husband has what they call a “protein S deficiency”, and develops blood clots, (they say it’s heritable), but there are WHOLE FOOD GROUPS that he gets precautions on, particularly because he’s on a blood thinner. That just doesn’t seem right to me😞😢🤔 That’s one of my motivations for learning herbalism. May God use this to bless us both health-wise!!!
@christineporter5068
@christineporter5068 8 месяцев назад
I was wondering the same. My husband has protein S deficiency as well and has been on blood thinners most of his life. We have always wanted to somehow get him off of them (safely of course) as his blood levels would change drastically with the increase in vegetable intake. The most important aspect would be finding the right formula and dosage, taking the herbal medicine consistently and monitoring blood levels during the transition and afterwards (which he had to do monthly anyway when he was on wafarin). What's crazy, is we have a ginkgo tree in our backyard!
