Benefits of Soft Water? Water Softener vs. Salt Free Water Conditioner vs. Tap Water 

This is one of the most convincing arguments for a water softener I've ever seen.🏆 Thank you!

I am not spending thousands of dollars to save on soap suds. Stupid way to convince someone to buy a salt system.

Thanks for the hands on demonstration, and clear explanations. Personally, the notion of paying a pretty penny on a salt based water softener to save on soap never seemed compelling enough to ignore the environmental concerns of dumping so much salt into the drains. Environmentally friendly soaps that we have used for years tend to be less foamy anyway, so we're used to it, and spoiler alert: our quality of life did not end up suffering and somehow, we survived. If the salt-free conditioner can help reduce scaling inside appliances without dumping salt, that's good enough for me.

Wasn’t at you Mike, all my comment stated was that it was not a misleading video. It is the facts. Word salad didn’t like it and commented back. Just a discussion between of bunch of folks. I have a softener and it does work and I do save money. Detergents and soaps are not cheap but I won’t argue with ignorance from Wordsalad. Soaps and detergents must cost Pennie’s where he lives. Salt and/or potassium are cheaper. Happy Monday and I’m glad we can all agree to disagree !!

If the concentration of soup is equal at five drops in all three beakers, this does not change the strength of soap. Comparing suds to soap strength is like comparing medication effectiveness to blood type. This water comparison makes no scientific sense other than showing the chemical reaction of soap suds and water types. Nice try with your analogy!

What was the cost of the water wasted and salt used to soften the water?

Need to factor in the cost of salt with acwater softener which is about $9 a 40lb bag now. My water softener regenerates every night and I go through about 4 bags a month.

I am researching these two options as I plan on buying once I am confident in m6 decision. I have to say, the soap comparison does not help me decide which system I want.

Thanks for your video. But, what about the affect on piping and shower heads? How does a water softener compare to water conditioner for reducing scale and clogged shower heads?
