I got this nice rifle just after Christmas from Pyramid and got a replacement adjustable brass trigger and springs from Baker Air. Makes a BIG différance! Trigger pull goes from 6lbs. down to 1 1/2 lbs. I added a rubber butt and a folding forward hand grip and a folding bipod. On top I put a compact Bugbuster 3-9 x32 mil dot scope.
Thanks a lot for the Video! Can´t buy it in Germany. I like the Style of this rifle, but i do like wooden stocks more. Wish you a great weekend! Keep up the good work! Best regards from germany! Andi
Hi Tyler, I enjoy your reviews, but your flying hands make me dizzy. I like the weight of the fortitude; 5.3lbs.. I also like that it is not pellet fussy. Others have remarked that the Gauntlet has so many more features and ask why Crosman hasn't met that standard. I wonder too. I also wonder what could be removed from the Gauntlet to lessen its weight.Time will tell. PyramidAir has been good to me. The great customer service is why people should buy from PA. Thank You Tyler, and all the helpful people at PA. R, Steve
Thank you so much for your informative vids I think they’re the best most thorough out there. I’m really excited about the GAMO TC45! I bought one from you but just can’t seem to get the right cast bullet for tight 80-100 yd shooting. It definitely punches at that range no problem. Anyway a really good vid to go with that gun would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thank you PA!
nick gironda , Did you try Neilson specialty ammo. com , I have found the are the best in the market , very hard hitter and great expansion and accurate
Honestly I have a Benjamin break barrel that is one of my favorite guns. But I find Crosman over promises and under delivers on many of their guns. For instant their Marauder is more expensive yet performance is similar to the umarex gauntlet. They are an American-made company and I would love to see them take the market by storm. Maybe they need a change in engineering I don't know. Their break barrels and gas Ram guns are excellent I feel like they could do with a better trigger system and some more time on the drawing board to fine-tune and Polish the fortitude before releasing it would have done a lot better. Still someday they'll make a gun I gotta have hopefully soon.
Hello, can you tell me where it is regulated to increase the power, I bought this rifle for my son and he needs to increase the power for bullets of 18 grains, greetings from Chile.
Tyler, Can you do review of the gen 2 fortitude? I really want to pull the trigger on the combo but we haven't gotten your thoughts on the improvements over the gen 1. thank you for your time and the information you provide.
I was going to buy a fortitude for myself for Christmas. Turns out Crosman discontinued the fortitude recently. To say I'm super bummed would be an understatement.
If the Fortitude has been discontinued... then explain how many of the Airgun website businesses are still - currently stocking, selling and servicing them (as of today - 6.6.2019).
I'd love to see a review of the Umarex hammer please! Or The Gauntlet 25 Cal once it's out. But to be honest I like to see the hammer reviewed for accuracy with some different rounds
Question. ...I own the Benjamin Maximus. 22 and did those dopey trigger mods and my opinion its a pretty good gun that I shoot at 50yards. I bought mine from Amazon on a flash sale and paid $150 for it. For $299 this gun has the same trigger as the Maximus, not pump friendly, multi shot mag and the Maruader barrel. ...is this a good buy? I'll answer my own Q....no...Sorry I feel that way but its not worth to buy something that looks like a previous model and only have a small change for more money. The Gauntlet wins this round...
How about a good video on the QB78 with shot groups at avg 10m with optics. I have one in my basket on your website now for 2 days and want to make sure Im getting the best bang for the buck for my tiny budget. I want a backyard friendly 22 thats CO2 and low cost, and for what I can afford and the reviews elsewhere I want to see a reputable group make a video on it. Wont hurt since Im going to be buying from Pyramyd Air anyway.
Great review I've been waiting for but in the end I think you confused the accuracy test but it was the better grouping from Air Arms pellets not the JSB's you should recommend
@@tylerpatner6591 I fully understand as I use both with different rifles...spring and vortex. As I said I have been waiting for this review so thanks a lot.
If you remove the regulator and it was set at 100% power, say 20 fpe output, removing the regulator can increase the fpe by 10%, but greatly decreasing, shot count, and accuracy due to the bell curve output of an unregulated gun plus the increase air drag from the faster velocity, but a hell of a lot more power if you can hit your target. In other words, what good is it to shoot 100 fpe pellets at a target a day long and always miss, compared to bringing down the power to 15 fpe and always hit? Of course with accuracy you are trading off power and range, so a gun with the shooters capability to shoot straight does have its limitations. Firstly, concentrate on hitting a one inch group then move your target back one yard at a time, but always keeping the fpe in mind because it is no sense to hit a target each and every time, stacking the pellets, if they don''t even have the fpe to punch through the paper? I'm with you with power, but you can only shoot mortar rounds without explosions so many times then you start wondering what would happen if you did hit the target with one of those mortar rounds. Lastly, the regulator can be removed, but then it defeats the purpose of buying this low powered gun. Go with the Maurader, it will serve your purpose better, and save for an FX 30 caliber with an 800 mm twist barrel. My mouth is already watering of the capabilities of the FX and the tweaking you can do on the barrel caliber and regulated pressure changes. If and when you do get one, set it to 100 x the fco number, or 178.6188963 Bar and shoot an fco numbered weighted pellet.
Yes it is a problem. I got mines on Friday filled it up and it was empty in 2hrs of me not shooting it. Pyramidair sent me a used gun well I will say a returned gun. Mines came to me with the tape already ripped and it came with a 10 for 10, But only i never paid for a 10 for 10. That right told me it was a freaking return plus the gun hard user Mark's on it. Even if then gun wouldn't have had a leak I still would've returned it bc I ordered a new gun. New means I'm the first one to touch the gun. When i get my new one in, if it's open in any kinda way im going to send it back until I get a brand new one. One thing I will say is that it's ultra quiet. Prod quiet. Accurate with the airarms 10.34gr and the h&n sniper mediums
I am looking for my first PCP, my requirements are backyard quiet, multi shot mag, iron sites , .22 cal and a hand pump. Call me when you have this in a combo for under $250
The Benjamin Fortitude air rifle is too long and I don't like Metre on down part of the butt of the gun because it has high chance of breaking while leaning and shooting or else
Tyler, I have a few questions. Is there any adjustments, similar to the Marauder's that would allow increasing power or increasing shot count. The trigger pull looked long as well as heavy. Is that right? Did you try the logical first choice in pellets for this gun, because of maker and price, the Crosman Premier Hollowpoints? If so, how did they do and would you describe this gun as pellet-picky? Thanks for the review and the higher standard on the shot count issue. Great work, as always!
If I recall correctly from modding a discovery a few years ago, there are not built in power adjustments. But, like the discovery, it's probably pretty easy to add a hammer spring tension adjustment to. The reg itself I have not had a good look at, but that too may be adjustable. Yes, the trigger pull was long and relatively heavy. I've pulled heavier, but as I said in the wrap up, the trigger is really the sticking point for me on this gun. Absolutely tried a bunch of different pellets, think my stock of .177's is around 15-16 for the reviews. The barrel on this one didn't like Crosman's at all, the only other pellets that came close were the H&N Baracuda's, right around 1" at 45 yards. I'm sure barrel to barrel, the pellet of choice will vary as it does with most guns in this price range. Of all the pellets I tested, only 3 were 1" or better at 45 yards, I wouldn't say that's picky but it's certainly not accepting of all. Granted, I don't see many guns that will shoot anything you put down the barrel, they all have their favorites. Thanks for the kind words and the viewership.
Tyler, thank you for the very complete response to my questions. I think I'll take a wait and see position until I see that the Crosman barrel making process has really improved. Maybe test a .22 ?? Much thanks, again.
Had the chance to shoot two .22 Fortitudes so far. One was about as accurate as this .177 but the trigger was about a pound heavier and the bolt was harder to cock. And the other not as accurate but easier to cock with a trigger similar to the .177 reviewed.
Tyler, the look on your faces says it all. Ive already seen Southern Gunners review also. That gun needs help. How was it said? Crosman heard what hunters want, but didn't actually listen.....
plenty of power for small game hunting, has more power than my benjamin titan np and i use that for all my small game hunting. on side note accuracy is great with crosman inexpensive ammo no need to get pricy jsbs
@@lukeshoot I got the .177cal today I took 6 shots at 6 squirrels at 40 yards and I 6 skinned squirrels in my freezer. Dont let people who dont own the gun talk u out of it. Mines shoots dimes at 40yards.
The fact that you didn't shoot any Crosman pellets, (Premiers, CPHP or Ultramag) through it seems to be saying something. When the gun isn't demo'd with its own in house pellets, sure doesn't look good. Just saying...
Tried them, always do. We only show the best two or three pellets in any gun. If we showed all the pellets we tested, it would take forever. Also, it's typically the case with most guns, regardless of manufacturer....better pellets (H&N and JSB) will out shoot most others.
