Everything about him is adorable, his voice, his facial mannerisms, what he says, his eyes, hair, his aura he really was gorgeous,I have never seen another man in my life like him.
This is the best interview with Benjamin. He gets to speak, not be interrupted by certain people. His quiet voice, his facial expressions, especially his mouth. Wow. His eyes, so amazingly gorgeous. He was truly a cutie, with such a sweet, down to earth personality. Beautiful Benjamin, you are missed, and so very loved. 💞💞
certain people named Ric? Even Greg and Elliot would cringe when Ric would interrupt Ben during interviews. Of course Ric, who I am a huge fan of, was jealous of Ben and rightly so.
I think it was Ric's controlling ways that led to Bens downward spiral. Ben must have been so upset & angry in the end, losing DGP on top of losing his best friend, the band etc. Then the final tragedy of a terrible illness that led to his death. It shouldn't have ended this way for such a beautiful soul....😢
Ben Orr is truly a beautiful man. Absolutely gorgeous!!! Sorry but for me he was the Cars, the voice, great looks, his stage presence. So unfortunate he left us so early, way too early. Love you Benjamin. Hope you are resting in peace😢
We all miss you, Ben! Powerful lead singer/front man, and one hell'uva bass player! And a modest, handsome man. I miss the Cars; and I miss those days.
He sounds like a really positive kinda guy that always smiles and never a grump or defensive always keeps his cool and has a likable vibe about himself. It be hard not to want to talk with him.
Benjamin Orr left us way too soon. I love his song “drive” and remember watching it when I was young on mtv. He was so talented and a very down to earth person. It’s so sad he suffered and died young. It reminds me of my mom that died at age 51 of leukemia after a bone marrow transplant. She died in 2002 a couple years after him. I remember people saying she was so young to die but I thought she was old at 51 because I was 26 years old. Now I’m 48 and I’m the same age my mom was when she got sick. Time flies so fast.
Thanks for sharing,I remember this on mtv. After all these years, wow, he was a legend in his own time. He was absolutely the real deal, just trying to make music. No big ego, great voice, and killer bass lines. Rest easy Ben
I was born in June of 90. So I didn’t get to experience the Cars in their heyday. But they are the first band I ever remember hearing. I wish I could have been around when they were huge. I’m such a massive Cars fan. My brother is 11 years older than I am. His favorite bands were the Cars and Aerosmith. I remember stealing his tapes to listen to their music when I was about 3. I was always a big Ocasek fan really until recently. I absolutely love Ben now
1986 I would’ve been 11. Unfortunately I don’t remember this interview. But everyone get his album The Lace. It is really good. I love listening to the CD version in my car.❤❤
A PS to my post. Ben looks so happy and so in love. It was a very good time in his life. The man has no idea what betrayal and devastation is coming down-the-line. So sad.
@@April-pw5ub Ric treated Ben pretty badly - I think he was jealous - I love Ric's talent but lets face it Ben had the talent and the looks and the personality
I loved this guy, especially because he was so shy and charismatic in a kind of cute way. With all the comments on here being offended about him asking if Benjamin's co-writer was "in the kitchen", I'm wondering if any of them have actually watched the video for 'Stay the Night'. There is a woman IN THE KITCHEN. He's obviously asking if that is the girlfriend/co-writer. Yeah, it's a cheeky way to ask the question, but interviews back in those days were a lot more easy-going and they got away with things that seem inappopriate these days. He's not asking it as if women belong in the kitchen, as some offended people seem to have assumed. If you watched the film clip, you'd get it.
💜Benjamin rest in peace. Wonderfully talented and humble musician that left this earth way too soon. 💜 never cared for Mark Goodman always seemed a bit snarky to me. Thanks so much for posting!😎
Que belleza de hombre que sencillez tímido humilde ,realmente ben era una persona hermoso por dentro y por fuera ,auténtico de esas personas que ya no quedan y su timidez lo hace aún más hermoso
I've loved the card since I was at least 7 or 8 years old and I've been listening to them alot and looking into every band member and it just broke my heart to find out he passed away when I was only 3.
Ben always looks so uncomfortable doing interviews. I know there’s not that many so maybe there’s some truth behind it. He seemed to be a very private person. I wish there was more. I will always love this man and his music, such a beautiful voice an talented musician. They broke the mold , one dam sexy handsome man.❤️❤️❤️
I believe he had a huge amount of anxiety when giving interviews, It must've been so bad that he had a tough time listening to the questions and an even tougher time giving an answer. He was the real deal not a complete narcissist like Ric Ocasek.
Thank you for posting again Donna, I have always loved this - Ben is so deliciously exquisite here (as ever), I will continue to watch it over and over again. From Patricia H. not William H.
OMG so freaking adorable. He was obviously a gentle soul even though he was a rock star he was just a regular guy. It was great that he answered the questions honestly and straightforward, instead of pretending that he liked some of what occurred with the making of The Lace. Some of the comments pertain to Mark asking about if the woman was" in the kitchen". That wasn't so bad to me. What was terrible is that right after Ben told Mark he was not good with lyrics, Mark asks him if he thinks he's a prolific songwriter?. Did you see the look on Ben's face it was like, uh I just told you I'm not good at lyrics hellooo!! To me that's way worse than whether or not the woman's in the kitchen which I assume meant were he and Diane married.
His dad said he loved being a rock star - not in a "look at me - aren't I cool-'m a rock star" sort of way. More like "I can't believe I get to be a rock star" .
Music and music people were so cool listen Mark Goodman I miss you the hell out of you Benjamin or the cars I’m speechless I would give anything to have you all back and I will take all this very seriously not that I didn’t when I was a child that I was very young I was eight years old when this aired I love you guys you guys were something that I think about all the time to this day I would give anything to go back to the 1980s I will give anything.
Could've been a movie star if he wanted. In this video, he'd have been perfect as Luke's long lost brother in Star Wars (original only, of course) pre-Empire, pre-Hamil accident.
If Mark keeps banging the table with his rings every time he stabs at ben with a back-handed interrogation question I’m going to post a comment about it.
Loved Benjamin Orr, the talented musician & humble man. My ex husband~kids father was a bass player, died of the same type of cancer at around the same age as Ben did. It’s a b^*ch type of cancer to go through, makes me sad for them both 😿
