As an argentinian it pains me that this goal was done in our match 😂. I believe Argentina vs France was the best match in that WC. Two great goals, one from di Maria and one from Pavard.
As an Argentinian, I must say I didn't get angry for this goal, I just said "Thats amazing" and clapped alone in my house as everybody was quiet. That shot was destined to be a goal, I knew a few seconds after i saw it this was going to be the goal of the tournament.
NitRo & Tazione I am sorry, but I did not see a more beautiful and successful goal during the 2018 cdm. I was really crazy when I saw this goal. I was for Argentina, but I could not see eliminated in 1/4, GRIEZMANN, and M BAPPÉ. This cdm 2018,was amazing.😉
Fantastic goal, truly. Imagine knowing that you are one of the few people who scored such a goal in a World Cup -- always to be remembered for that magical moment.
jim maurice oui j'suis d'accord, mais ce que je voulais dire c'est qu'à partir du moment ou pavard à marquer le but c'est toute l'équipe de France qui s'est réveillée et au finale 4-3.
Even in slow motion the ball is spinning really fast. What a curve ball. The ball keeps accelerating upwards. This is one of the best goals I have ever seen, and I have seen alot. Cheers France from Romania.
I'm Argentine, I never in my entire life yelled a goal against my nation. But damn, at that moment, I really felt like screaming it.. I could not believe my eyes of what the hell was that.
You could kick that ball a thousand times and I will never come out this beautiful......this are the types of goals that u can't just describe it to someone else in words. They must watch it to believe it.
If it wasn't for the net and everything on it's path, that ball would still be gliding around the earth to this day lol. I mean....look at the magnus effect of that thing!
Also.. the reason why this does not display the magnus effect yet only shows the movement caused by air plus spin catching the creases where the ball is stitched along with the rubber rebounding back and forth. For example, a smooth bowling ball dropped from a height will display the magnus effect. There is nothing for the air to catch on it yet it still doesn't fall strait down.. that's the magnus effect
@@supafrancis what? you can clearly see the magnus effect in action. The ball goes exactly in the expected direction. The spin would suggest that the ball goes up and slightly to the right, which is exactly what it does.
I remember this goal when watching live at the Cage au sport (sport bar) in Gatineau, Québec and EVERYONE was like going crazy. Vive la France, les québécois sont fier de vous !
kad plus fort que ninjz Yes but a great player never replaces a well-formed team :) Argentina didn't have a defined game project, everything was focused on Messi and his magic - and clearly that is never enough. Cheers
Wow, sportsmanship ! Thanks man, really. At first I wasn't confident at all, Di Maria scored a wonderful goal. We were all afraid until the end, because everybody knows that Messi needs only one ball to do magic. I only have one complain, and it's how retarded are some players, like Mascherano and Otamendi, always arguing and fighting. But Lucas Hernandez is as stupid as them, so... :D
Anthony R. Yes, I think every goal was fabulous - both from France and Argentina and there were many crazy goals. And no. I don't think Messi needs only a ball to do magic but an articulated and efficient team. And if you look back: draw against Iceland, humiliating defeat against Croatia, agonizing triumph against Nigeria and defeat against a much superior France. Without game and without ideas, a loose midfield and no balls stopped, I think Argentina had a painful but fair elimination.
I can say the same for France. Semi-gifted penalty against Australia then an OG. A lot of offensive mistakes against Peru. An awful game against Denmark (we were qualified at this time, but come on, people came to see a football game, not to have a nap). And finally, a not-so-good Argentina scores three times against us. Di Maria is alone, no defender come to him, and he can shoot. It reminded me Eder's goal in the Euro's final. Mercado was alone in the box, and he scored. Maybe the defenders thought he was offside, I don't really know. The only thing we did great was making argentinian defenders making fouls. But it was maybe the best match of the tournament so far, a lot of emotions. I hope I will live another 1998, I don't remember it, I was almost 5 at this time. And I won't lie to you, I thought it was over after Di Maria's goal. Our players are not strong and can easily break down. And to be honest, I thought Argentina would wake up in this game. But Messi, as good as he is, can't do anything when he isn't helped. Football is a team game, you can win when it's a player + 10 other guy here and there. I think this is why Portugal lost tonight too. Btw, it's great to see someone being so nice and explaining what he thinks about his national team, it's people like you who makes me like football, thank you man, really.
Di marias was better imo cuz di maria planned that goal and shot it exactly where he wanted it to go whereas pavards goal was a total fluke nothin else it was 1 in a 10,000% chance it was goin in but still great goal great game
C'est passé dans le dos. Le centre Lucas ! Second poteau PAVAAAAARD OHHHHHHHHH BENJAMIN PAVARD IL NOUS A FAIT UNE NACHO NON CE N'EST PAS UNE NACHO C'EST UNE PAVARD!!
If only Ronaldo or Messi scored this goal (let alone the Di Maria's one) the folks would be calculating the Kinetic energy of the ball, the magnetic field created by the friction between the air and the ball, the density of the oxygen it passed through or even the air resistance it denied. Nowadays fans boys are not fair. Pavard did a stunning thing.
Danna Carbiani je suis français, cependant non. Les Allemands ont les meilleurs joueurs du monde. Les Argentins sont bien meilleurs que nous en 1vs1 , mais ils ne jouent pas bien en équipe. Nous il va nous manquer des leaders.
Man that ball was out of everyone's near reach. Impossible to stop despite being a gentle, beautiful caressing of the ball. It wasn't a screamer, it was the personification of art in its purest of forms. Beautiful! 😭
INCROYABLE
ringcross5 Yes. But does that mean he's a world class player. My nan could be on the pitch running around and doing a lot of work, that doesnt make her a world class player.
it's actually slow because it spins backwards, it's like gerrard's long passes, he puts backspin on the ball to reduce speed so the strikers could catch up, but this one is in the form of a shot, the ball was floating mid air and he hit it slightly below centre with power. this creates power but at the same time creates drag, so the ball seems like it wants to go forward(power) but is held back by something(backspin drag), it's a combination of circumstance and a clean strike.
+Robert Langdon Allow me to say something about "it's actually slow because it spins backwards" which is actually a misconception. I'm talking as someone who studied some physics and not as someone who plays football. A spin on the ball doesn't slow it down, it just changes it's direction. A topspin makes the ball curve down, a backspin makes it curve up. Back spin only slows the ball when it touches the ground. While it's in the air it just makes the ball lift up and counters gravity (Magnus effect). A backspin balls look it goes slowly because it can go a very long distance and only falls down when the air friction slows it enough so that gravity is stronger than the backspin induced lift. It has an unnatural trajectory and that's why it looks mesmerizing.
