I love how this build looks Fun fact: Eclipse GS in Europe came with a N/A 4G63. So it is possible to convert from N/A to turbo if you know what you‘re doing. Only diffrence are the pistons. N/A pistons compression is higher. Currently working on my own GS to GST conversion. This build gives a lot of motivation!

No buying a naturally aspirated car wasn't a mistake, turbos cause alot of problems for the engine along with that power.

Benjamin, great build! I too, am a DSM 420A owner (Mine is a tribute to the green Fast and Furious Eclipse). I ignore the hate about not having a turbo 2G DSM. Like you said, you built it and you're the one that drives it. Keep up the great build, Benjamin! 👍😉

For the hate it's the Classic, if you have a 420A; you should've went 4g63; if you have a 4g63 FWD; you should have gotten a GSX (TSI AWD) if you have a GSX; you have a built this or that Gearbox It'll never end, don't worry about it

My 97 Spyder GS has a turbo 1G six bolt swapped in. So many options if he actually wants a 4G63

Again don’t take this as hate but im also hoping this kid didn’t get ripped off from who’s building it or saying things to him. Because 250hp on a non turbo is very unlikely. Did he get a dyno sheet? I think the record for non turbo even without nitrous was like 213hp but that was in 2011. The work wheels thing I’m also skeptical on that if someone sold it to him with a sticker on it and the back of the face isn’t actually stamped. Car is nice no hatred I’m just looking out for him because he’s really young and don’t want shops to be taking advantage of this kid he seems genuine and nice willing to learn.

Uhhh, so you lost me at “it could be better than a 4g63 because you can drive it whenever you want” Aside from that, I’ve owned DSMs since 2002, and now an Evo. I never hated on 420A cars. A clean 2g is a clean 2g. I don’t care what powers it. Beautiful cars and I miss my 2g GS-T all the time.

Mitsubishi should sell a completely new chassis, bodywork, front and rear lights, without an engine as a way of warming up the automotive parts sales market. With the Toyota Supra, Toyota should do the same, it's so simple for an automaker to sell this. This eclipse is a very sexy car.

Hey I think your eclipse is beautiful!! I've had five including a 97 eagle talon. My 97 GST was rusted out and I have the engine to put in my 99 Spyder but I haven't done it yet. I've had a lot of hate over the years for my GS and rs too and now my spider that I tried to build my body. Forget the haters build it for you I think it's amazing work of art and these are my favorite cars!! DSM 💯

I’ve had a couple 420as too , very fun reliable/ economical cars .You can always get a 4G63 later down the road . Like I did , You’ll see how they’re so different and better , but that’s no reason to hate on the 420a . If it wasn’t for Chrysler/dogde Motors this car would’ve never been produced at all 🤷‍♂️

I’ve given up on finding a clean 4g63. They’re either horribly modified or just sketchy. And the clean examples are going for 20k+??? No way I can see myself spending so much for a DSM. Had a Camaro but got stolen so I’m kinda stuck with my 420a. I’m gonna just go for it and build it.
