Benji Schwimmer and Melina Ramirez Improv West Coast Swing at Desert City Swing 2008 

Such a great feeling watching this. Is this improvised? It looks spontaneous.... It looks like Benji is really letting melina dance around his leads, and man is she dancing. Somebody clue me in here if they think they know how much of this is lead, and how much of what she is doing is spontaneous, and how to do that as a follower, and how to let her do that as a leader.

this is the base of the WCS : the girl has some freedom even if the man leads. that's why it's so great ! and so hard to make something that great by improv ! In a sense, the guy says "go right and turn" and he let the girl choose if she turns slowly or fastly, if she makes one or two turns etc... this contest is not routine, is all impro. (sorry for my bad english i'm french !)
