i just bought a new one yesterday and pick it up sat, fully comp insurance cheap, gonna use it for taking in a small van which im gonna do a wee bit of touring, fishing, camping...dont have to move the van when its connected to a tent but yes nickability does worry me if i use a supermarket or something....
I bought one of these new back in 2021, mainly to deal with traffic getting through Warrington. As you mention, its great for filtering, but being on the smaller side, its less likely to be noticed in traffic ( A louder exhaust does seem to help though) I think the combined brake system works superb, i hardly ever need to pull the front brake lever and it makes riding super easy. i have to say though, i disagree entirely when it comes to the mirrors. they are dreadful. i feel if they were 2 inches further out each side, they would be fine ( maybe your height helped ). I tried bar end mirrors for a while but because the bars are so low down, it was pointless, plus it made the bike wider, which defeats the object of having such a small bike in the first place. The chinese quality did start to show through after a few months of ownership, with the main failure being the gear selector mechanism bolt threads stripping themselves out, but this was fixed by re-tapping and its been solid since. overall its a great fun little bike, excellent for commuting, puts a smile on my face every ride.
I personally got into mini bikes , as I just fancied one and bought a Honda monkeybike , then 2 groms all the 5 speed Models , and decided to buy a benelli tnt to compare it to the Hondas , don’t get me wrong the groms are the best road bikes just , monkey is a riot , but I kid you not the benelli is becoming one of my favourites , best mod is change the down pipes and link pipe and leave the standard end can , it’s more than loud enough , you still spend money on them , monkeybike full Yoshimura , groms full Leo vince twin exhausts , but actually riding cost nothing , my girlfriend and I recently did a 240 mile round trip , that 480 miles in total for the two bikes , I was on the monkey and she was on the grom and in total we put £12.50 in petrol for both bikes , they faster than you think , benelli tops out at 69 on the limier , monkey groms 74 ish , this is down hill obviously , you want fun on a budget buy a benelli , 🏍🏍👍👍
Good review mate. I like it, just the nickability aspect that puts me off. But then that happens when you've just had a big bike stolen. Leaves you a bit paranoid. Liked it and subscribed.
