This young man is a person of character. I'm an Army fan and was glad he missed that kick, but one missed kick, no matter how big of a game, doesn't define this young man as a football player or a leader. He has his head on straight. He took ownership for the miss and the loss, but his teammates rallied around him and rightfully made the point that he didn't lose the game. Kudos to big #77, talk about the exact right thing to do.....You win as a team and you lose as a team. This young man represented his school and the Navy with honor and with class. The Army-Navy game is the best game in college football. That said, Go Army, Beat Navy!

Army Navy best game all year I'd rather miss the Super Bowl than this game. Best men in our country . Every one of these men willing to serve our country and protect our freedoms.

The greatest rivalry in college football. The pageantry is unmatched. For one day of the year these two teams try as hard as they can to rip each other’s head off. And once the clock has all 0:00 they shake hands and the respect and dedication to serving the country becomes the main focus of those players. This rivalry goes even further for me because my father is currently serving in the Navy and has been for the last 21 years. My uncle was a Marine and served in Iraq. My grandfather on my moms side served in Vietnam with the Army. My great-grandfather served in the Army during WWII. This is truly America’s Game and there isn’t a game in college football that comes close to matching just how special this game is. I have the upmost respect for Army and their football team, but today Navy reclaims it’s place in this rivalry and ends the short streak that Army is riding. Go Navy! Beat Army!

48 yard kick in the snow, a game winner so a lot of pressure, he had made a few kicks before that so the chances to make another kick in the snow were against him, and he’s in college, not nfl, Explain to me how you can blame him, especially when it’s a team sport?

As a kicker this is my worst nightmare

A lot of my friends are in the US Army but I respect all service academies and our military. They sacrifice so much for us. Moerhing has nothing to hang his head about because he has a great future ahead of him.

Moehring got a little redemption this past weekend during Army-Navy. Thankfully, it still wasn't enough. GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY - again. (I was there when my classmate, Patmon Malcom, hit a 44 yarder and then after a penalty another - right afterwards - 49 yarder to win in 1992. He'll never buy another beer.)

I know that exact feeling. I missed the field goal to win my team the championship. It hurts

I played soccer with him and his brother Hayden in high school and he could take a free kick from almost anywhere on the pitch and make it to the other teams box so 48 was a chip shot for him but the cold conditions really do make the ball a lot more difficult to hit accurately from that far. In Arkansas we never really had cold football or soccer games but up there I’m sure it happened a lot more.
