Hey mate, great video.. just installing some myself. The only tip I would add is to use the drill in reverse mode initially to avoid cracking of the fibreglass which reduces the likelihood of it crazing near the hole. I have watched lots of boat fitting videos and found that technique works really well.. Love the video though... you have the patience of a God! WELL DONE!
I agree that Bennete is the way to go. I have a 240 SeaRay Sundancer that developed a leak at the copper pipe on the port side. I pulled boat batteries and will continue tomorrow. I came into the house and there your video was on my startup page about installing Bennett Trim tabs. Great timing!! Good video!!
These Bennett SLT 10 Trim tabs suck a pain in the ass to install. Try these first Nauticus Smart Tabs first if you have limited space to work with and they install so much easier than the Bennett product.
Word to the wise if using boat in salt water make sure you use 316 stainless hardware. The stainless hardware from the big box stores WILL rust in the salt.
Do you think a hydrofoil on the out drive would have helped much? I am about to purchase a swim platform today but have already installed the hydrofoil
Wait a minute ! I know you didnt screw holes in that transom . Why not mount them on the sides as you had to do with the captains call . So as to not rot that transom lol .
