I ordered this monitor yesterday and received it today. Used it for work (emails, LinkedIn etc), browsing, gaming via Nintendo switch connection and watched a whole movie in it. And I am very happy with my purchase! The stand and cable management feature is such a nice touch and very stable stand. No backlight issue, great colours, can see everything even during very dark scenes, very clear and crisp display. The buttons for menu and to change settings is very easy to use. Don’t know why people have issues of it not being bright enough I actually had to reduce brightness coz too bright. I love that it has a vga, display port, hdmi and audio output port plus inbuilt speakers. The speakers are low even at full volume but good enough for when I game with my Nintendo switch - again you can attach speaker if you want. Very happy with this monitor - wanted something for multi use and for gaming only my Nintendo switch .
Thanks allot. I am about to purchase this from Amazon and I needed your reference. I don't think the brightness will be an issue for me and I liked it better than the other two monitors you mentioned. Thank You Sir!
It's a pretty good monitor bought last Friday totally happy with it I needed a 1ms acer kg241 but I changed my mind after I saw the large frames lol. Update: it died after 3 years.
Cheapest 24 IPS monitor in my country. Easy on eyes, great picture, 12+ hours session without strain. Money spent well. Before I bought it, I didn't know that I need frameless monitor. Bonus: it have VESA mount
@dota hafiz If you mean auto brightness then yes. It does adjust brightness. Brightness sensor is that little box on bottom of display. I use only two modes (there is dedicated button for mode selection). Low blue light for general usage and Movie for video player and RU-vid. Monitor experience is subjective. I am highly sensitive to bad displays and at work I can't use PC with HP office display more then a hour while this BenQ I have used for hours without brake. That said. If you sit close to it you will see some pixelisation due the FullHD resolution on 24 inch display but it can be alleviated to some extent with mode settings
Thank you for your review. I bought this after watching your review even though it's slightly more expensive than those on sale for $90 same sized monitors, and because of the thin bezels, WITH speakers although not that loud, and the screen colours are satisfactory. Super value for money! Thanks again man!
To the people so worried about monitors for competitive gaming. Unless you're literally competing against the absolute pros in MLG, then you don't need the absolute best response time monitor ever. If you're just playing a mixture of games, and do online PvP games on the side you'll be just fine. Remember not every opponent you face online has the best of the best. More of a rarity if anything. and having the best monitor, doesn't automatically make a player any better than a player with a budget monitor. It just grants a very slight edge. So if this monitor is all you can afford, go for it. And yes budget monitors are great for consoles, I own one. Just make sure they have a headphone jack, or line out port so you can plug in external speakers!
The brightness is rated at 250 cd/m which is what 95% of the home / office and budget friendly monitors out there have. If your used to a gaming monitor which would have 300 - 450 cd/m brightness levels of course your going to find this monitor to be darker.. it's not designed solely for gaming. Also I wouldn't want a monitor with that high of brightness level because that's going to cause you vision problems down the road.🙂
I love this monitor, but buy it through a dealer who will back it up. I purchased one directly from BenQ's website, it was defective, and dealing with them for the replacement has been a nightmare. We are 35 days in and still dealing with their totally incompetent customer support.
i have a 250cdm brightness monitor like this one and I find mine too bright sometimes, even in a well lit room, I've often got it shifted down to 80% or with a blue light filter like F.lux enabled. If this alone is the only issue, then this monitor sounds ideal!
Thank you for your complete review! Have you ever used the LG MK600? I bought that Lg some months ago (all is ok), but I have to buy a new one for someone else, and I think l this BenQ would be a better option. Thanks again, greetings from Peru !
Hi. First thanks for your reviews. From the displays you tested which one do you think is the best cheap thin bezel 24'' ips for working purpose ? BenQ GW2480, aoc i2490vqx , iiyama G2730HSU-B1....
hi! came from your BenQ EW2480 video! i was wondering how the colors accuracy of this GW compared to the EW (looks promising!), the GW is the only one available so far where Im from. thanks!
Yes. You'll appreciate IPS panels more on console since they're limited to 60hz anyways, so you may as well get better blacks/color quality over a TN panel.
@@TotallydubbedHD Hey. I actually just received this monitor, however I am experiencing something that seems unnatural, the top half of it is really bright, and then about at the half way mark it transitions from halo white to darker and desaturated, I can definitely see the contrast when I move an image up and down, or have them side by side. This isn't normal, right? It's so noticeable even with natural light that it's headache inducing to look at.
@@TotallydubbedHD Ah okay, I definitely need to RMA it then, have you had any experience doing returns to amazon? Feels like I could be doing this a lot of times with panel lottery. I know there's 30 day period, but if it happened to pass, would I have a warranty under BenQ even if purchasing from Amazon?
Is this good for new Mac mini? Because I saw this in a awesome review video and I love the thin bezels and minimal branding, so it doesn't look mismatched with the mac
I am just a time pass gamer who plays on ps4, can i buy this one for playing ps4 games and work purpose as well, does 60hz refresh rate is fine for PS4
Hi I have plan to buy this model (I have seen the specs of it ) ..can you suggest , will it go better with my Dell CORE i7 laptop 1366x768. The purpose is for GraphicDesign? In resolution point of view.
I mean for the resolution ....when I will connect my laptop to this monitor how the colors will react. Apologies , u could not find understand my message.
@@harshadaaupare yes that won't be a problem, you'll be either running Full HD, or if you want (for some reason) to run it at the same resolution as your laptop, you can
I've only tried the multimedia setting but to me it's decent, you can change the sharpness level, I keep mine not too sharp and not too blurry. The sharpest setting makes the text look pixelated, and less sharp just makes text slightly fuzzy on the edges. I think a 4k screen would be best if you want the text to be perfect. I've been loving the benq though, I always stop and think this was a wise buy
For the price this is gonna make a great secondary monitor using an Alienware AW2521HF as my main and this would be perfect as a secondary right beside it!
Considering this or an ASUS. Since i have limited space.. I can't go over 55CM in physical width. That being said, gaming quality? That's the most important thing for me. Would like a bit of tilt optioning though
LemonJuicePlays u can play on whatever monitor u want to play on. But if u play on PC and want to play competitively then it’s ideal if u buy a 144hz-240hz monitor which can be $200 and up.
depending on where you live, this one is around the same price and is my personal fav: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XnjK7T7vUv4.html
@@TotallydubbedHD Hey man. Would you say the philips has better image quality or is it your fav because of the extras like height adj, webcam, mic, etc? Have these 2 worked well for you with speakers plugged to them? Thanks.
@@BboyCustomz it's not only the extra features, but the screen quality and performance of the Philips :) And I use speakers through my amp, so can't comment on that
I've bought one. The brightness is very disappointing. All the other specs ( including the presence of VESA mount and 2w speakers) and price (110 Eur) make it a good monitor.
@@777droid it’s a 60hz 1080p display, really outdated one too. The colors aren’t great for being an ips screen either, it’s a good cheap second display monitor
Can you tell me if it helps me to use it on xbox one S, I mean if it's better than playing on a TV? Alguien me puede decir si me sirve para usarlo en xbox one S, me refiero a si es mejor que jugar en una TV?
Try the Dell p2214h or p2414h. It's a great quality IPS with good colour uniformity. Good for games too. Find them on Ebay. Light bleed varies between every monitor but I only noticed a little in one corner which isn't noticeable in most situations.. Also it has better contrast ratio than any other IPS or TN screen. So blacks and dark scenes look stunning. Great colour accuracy. (Or try the s2318m at dell.com) These have no vesa mount. It's a flicker-free screen. I have the blue channel reduced to about 37% and the red and green about 50% to create a low-blue-light mode with the brightness at 33%. The sharpness is set at 100%. The LG 23MP68VQ only has 89% sRGB. The Dells are much higher.
@@TotallydubbedHD it was quite distracting for me coz I have tendency to observe things preciesly. It was bothering me. I'll better buy a bit costly monitor to resolve this issue.
@@TotallydubbedHD If you don't need it to connect anything you can just turn it on and its will have everything like a laptop or computer because I was also wondering if you need like a PC or something.
Thaks for review! Can you help me pls. That monitor is good for the game( world of warcraft, pubg and other the new games)??????? Help pls) Just i want to buy new monitor with ips. Now I use 21.5 TN(60Hz and 5ms) monitor. And im sorry for language :)
@@TotallydubbedHD contrast 37, b:38 gamma: 4. 100 is too bright for me. Also if I get lg 4k, 24ud58, 24inch ips monitor will I notice better colors and quality ? Is its 150 buks more.than this benq 1080p worth it ?
