Bent my brand-new shaft on a fat spring kingfish! 

Its a stunning spring day and we are out on Dave's boat trying to rustle up a feed - the main goal is to shoot a nice kingfish.
In the first spot there are a group of kingfish but they don't stay long enough to get a shot into them so I make do with a couple of nice pink maumau before moving on.
It's at the second spot where things start to get interesting with a Mako shark turning up around a big school of trevally. After getting a good shot on a trevally I find a school of koherau, shoot one and that brings the kingfish in and I manage to get my spear into one!
