@Ralf Jones_Slug Wow. Thats great of you making time to learn to make balisong and machetes. I envy you brother. Lol. Goodluck to you and your works. Godbless you bro. Stay safe.
@@101boertjie you can also request for some designs, i still remember my grandfather's balisong the lock of the balisong was made by pure gold and he has also his name carve in the knife that was so beautiful but ever since he died I've never seen it again, maybe they put his knives in his tomb.
Now that is what we call craftsmanship. He's a treasure to our country, truly one! Kids nowadays focus their attention on stupid things. If u know what i mean.
@@solowing04013 umm no one is being racist, we all wanted to see the finished product, and we don't cause the maker of this video was stupid and didn't put it in. No one said "the video creator is (insert race) and hates (insert another race) so they made it so we can't see the final product". Or any other racist sentence. Get your head out of the clouds and figure out that not every sentence that is more on the negative side racist. Edit: changed the - to ()
@@solowing04013 And now we know why we scored so low in reading comprehension. Tangina gusto ko nang mamamatay hahaha ang cringe makikita nang foreigners ganitong comment, akala siguro nila ganyan tayo lahat.
I can watch this video everytime. Very dramatic Balisong clip. I own a Mang Ona piece. I collect them. Sipaan naman po tayo Explore Ph heheh. Mabuhay kayo
if i have the opportunity, i would gladly seek to learn how to make balisong, or at least support the balisong industry. i badly wanna help keep this industry alive and i dont know where to start :( this is a part of our culture and it's clearly a beautiful craft!
Fun fact: the very first design and idea of a balisong actually came from france and was brought to the philippines during the spanish colonisation, it was we filipinos who perfected the design and so it's widely known as a filipino knife
Alan Ebora As you drive along the the road of taal, you can see little booths or shops at the side of the road, feel free to stop and let your instinct point you to what shop you want to spend your time with 😉
I am filipino and i wanted to learn how to craft such an awesome knife but i moved out the states and havent gotten back for a long time. Sayang yung bagong generation ayaw matuto puro ml nalang X'D
They are using 5160 Spring Steel for the blade. That blade can puncture and penetrate a silver dollar or a quarter dollar coin with just a one hard poke and the point of the blade didn't even break They are hand forged great Craftsmanship.
I wouldn’t say that balisong making will die, as balisongs are being made on massive scale with companies such as benchmade making them on a professional level. However, traditionally the craft will die out. It won’t die out fully, as the internet and multiple resources exist to keep the records and instructions there. But the interest will die out at some point, but like many things, it will come back. Balisongs are the katanas of the knife world, they will never truly die out and the craft will keep going
In Barangay Balisong in Taal, Batangas, there are stores along the road that sell balisongs. You can get an original 29 cm (handle is made of brass, not aluminum) for about 20USD. If you end up at Ona`s, store, the price is 5x more because he deals with foreigners who don't know that the original can be had for only 20USD. It is the same knives sold at balisong.com, if not better. I know this because I was there last week.
@@charitoarceo5462 i would gladly pay $100 for one of these even if they're being sold for $20. This kind of craftsmanship should be well respected and lowballing the makers is no good. If $100 per knife is what keeps this craft going then by all means
When i was a kid my dad was a black smith(He makes swords when he doesn't have work)one day my dad were teaching me how to forge when i was that age didn't even know the World had more blacksmiths like my dad
Ang nakakalungkot nauna pang i trade mark ng Benchmade ang balisong. Sana binigyang pansin ito ng Batangas kasi sila naman ang nauna na gumawa ng balisong
