This is a dutch driver's habit. If you don't do this (even if the road is empty ) during your exam, you fail instantly. So, the instructors hammer checking your mirror's before switching lanes and it becomes part of you. And driving lessons and exams are really expensive here and now days there is a long ass waiting time to even get a chance to do an exam.
The total aplomb with which the Continental GT Speed cruises at 300 kmh is something I think no other GT or supercar can match. The acceleration from 200 to 300 kmh is swift yet so unruffled that it becomes almost surreal. And the wind noise suppression at speeds of 300 kmh and over is truly amazing! I love this car too!
PORSCHE..., dude! All the mechanical, suspension and chassis electronic tech in this Bentley Continental GT comes from Porsche. It even has the typical sound from Porsche launch control starts. Due to the Audi/Porsche 48 volt system with all these assistance systems in a car of this size, the Continental GT can do these things. Of course its chassis technology is based on Porsche Panamera three chamber air suspension, but nothing more! He should have mentioned this! This isn't a "pure British vehicle" any longer... This car has quite 60% of German DNA from Porsche and Audi. Only the W12 engine is still "Bentley exclusive", but originally it was also developed by VW/Audi, dude. 😂😂 The Continental GT is a VW group super luxury vehicle and has all these things, Porsche and Audi have developed for their own cars. Bentley has got these things "for free" for using it in their cars. So to speak the Continental GT is like a Porsche Panamera Coupe in disguise.
@@J-_-S The Panamera Turbo S is less expensive and way better. The Bentley Continental GT is also less sporty than Porsche Panamera models. You can't compare these two cars.... How old are you...little boy?🤣

A lambo is very sportive cool and fast but bently has more luxery, comfort, space inside and you can drive hours without getting tired from engine sound, shock aborbers ed, at the of the day is the bentley overall winner
Im 21 yo and i work with practically with all the Supercars companys ( Lambo, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Mclaren, Bentley ), when i joined the company i was like WOW definetly Bentley sucks near to Mclaren and all of this companies, but after a month i work with all Bentley models and drive them it change tottaly my mind. Bentley doesnt look agresive like the other ones, or someone thinks its a car for old people but they are tottaly wrong.
That drives super smooth at those speeds and the car itself looks truly amazing! If you got the 💰 that's definitely the ultimate road trip car right there

Yea it can be fun, but sometimes when you’re just trying to get to the top speed it’s frustrating to have to brake because some Dutchman is overtaking someone at 135 kph
I stand corrected, this time driving between the Dutch border and Rhine-Ruhr (Dusseldorf is the most visited by the Dutch), it is not sometimes. It is ALL the time. And when a stretch of delimited road opens up, there is road works with a 80 kp/h contraflow where you need to drive on the right lane because your Bentley is too huge to go on the narrow left lane. Personal experience driving a Continental GT Speed to the christmas market for a day. the way one wa full out and didn't even notice anything dramatic at 250. Just a cough on the accelerator.
The Best all-round Super GT no doubt. It's got everything : Looks , Luxury , interior , practical and Fast as all Funk.....9/10. Point off for the weight.

Even the launch control start sound is totally Porsche. It's all Porsche tech, dude! This is like a Porsche Panamera Coupe (which doesn't exist of course) in disguise, but nothing more! He better should have mentioned PORSCHE and Audi in this video just for one time, because the Bentley Continental GT models are VW Group luxury vehicles and have so much of Porsche and Audi DNA, that it's literally more than only half of a German performance vehicle, but not a pure British luxury vehicle any longer.

I drove a new Flying Spur V8 and was amazed by the agile performance it was capable of given its size. Can imagine the W12 Speed would only do it better.
I was a passenger in both this new gen Continental and in the previous gen Continental and I have to say it’s even more impressive when you feel how big of a jump the chassis did. It feels much muuch more agile.
Doing over 300kph talking casually with one hand on the wheel, insane. I would be crapping my pants sitting beside him while simultaneously enjoying the ride of my life. Fantastic car.

At least they haven't gone the ugly BMW way to implement it. And they keep several 'physical' buttons for commands and not two touch screens like Mercedes and others...
@@tiagofilipe6592 You can't really compare premium with luxury imo. Speedometers is one of the few parts you always have your eyes on. Definitely the right place to set fancy materials, not cheap LCD screens with boring animations.
@@krlp9826 You're right but the accuracy will never be lost with digital speedometers outside that doesn't matter for these brands that nowadays, just seek to implement more and more modernity and technology.
