Wonderful! I bought a 1935 Bentley when I was 29 years old, 37 years ago now and that was the best buy I ever made. It cost £3,500. I used it as a daily car form years on end without a single problem. It returned between 25 - 30 mpg, cost little to insure, was road-tax free, was a lovely thing to drive and took on any kind of ground from fields and rough tracks to the straight and smooth. It even pulled a horse-trailer. It was after all, 3 litre. These old Bentleys, to my mind, make the new ones just look flash, and distinguished from them, increase in value - in every way. Excellent video!
Thanks Don, these cars are a huge joy to drive, mine is mechanically totally sorted so I have no hesitation in taking it on 250 mile business trips if the weather permits. A MkVI brings a smile to most people's faces when they see it drive along and that is one of the added bonuses. All the best, Han.
My modern car has all sorts of gadgets on it but I'd swap it for this wonderful car. I love the side indicators and the beautiful bodywork. A masterpiece
Back in the 50's, Dad had a Mk6. First time doing 100 mph was going to the Brussels Expo along the autostrada. Fantastic car but my three sisters all the time......I'm feeling sick so we would have to pull over. Have extensive 16mm film going through France and mum with a cig in the mouth looking like a film star. A truly great car that my father loved over all the Clouds and Shadows that he had later.
Great video! Coincidentally (or maybe not?) the old headmaster of Nevill Holt preparatory school owned the same kind of car until 1964. As a former pupil, I and others were amazed to see your film because we imagined it was him driving.

A wonderful video of a wonderful Mk VI - I used to have a Mk VI, coachbuilt by 'Freestone & Webb' and have such nice memories on it, incl. the Parade for the Golden Jubilee of H.M. at Windsor Castle, back in 2002. Thank you for posting your film!
kindly accept my warm greetings & congratulations for possessing such an incredible car- i wish you a many many years of togetherness with this lovely bentley mark4vi from a fellow bentley lover in India
Not at all bad my friend, more young people need to learn to love the past, appreciate the cars of the period as you obviously do, my advice is simply go for it, make informed decisions, and enjoy. I could not be without a vintage or antique car in my garage, they certainly take you back in time:) my late father owned a mk6, so i have precious memories of these fine cars, good luck in realising your dream.
dormantsuperhero I've always appreciated the classics as modernity (in almost everything) has really never intrigued me. however the dream is dead to the realization of ownership cost. the price of the car might be cheap but the cost to maintain and insure never does
