Clean 124! Nice find. Stumbled here from your e46 turbo walk-around vid. The m103 motor in your 124 is an alum head and iron block 👍 With regards to water temp sensors there are three, 4-pin is for the CIS computer for fuel and the 2-pin is for the auxiliary fans. The single pin is your instrument cluster temp gauge. Often times the cooling systems in these cars get neglected and when the clutch fan stops working a car may not cool efficiently, if ones aux fan temp sensor fails, or the fan relay is burnt a car might overheat without no running electric fans. Boom, alum head+iron block you may blow the head gasket at high Temps. The original gaskets from the factory also had a thin point near cylinder 6 for a cooling channel and the new gaskets are updated to be reinforced there FYI.
That’s good to know! I actually didn’t have any issues when I pulled the head, the previous owner tried to do just a head gasket after the chain had failed and bent all but 4 valves. So it got all new valves. But I did just pick up a 190e 2.3 8v. So that will help me in the future! Hopefully I’m able to help you in the “walk around” video even tho it’s clear I don’t have the video skills yet lol
It was a 535i, sold it due to a bad trans. And was unable to source a new or working one till days later. Lol that’s my luck. This car actually sold due to an offer I couldn’t refuse shortly after I got it running. I miss both of them and need to make an update on what has come back into my possession.
@@Crzylexusdrvr i just looked it up, for some reason i thought Germany and most of Europe was RHD. I'm in Australia and Germany being LHD would probably explain why the bonnet catch on my Mercedes and BMW are on the passenger side rather than the drivers side where i can reach it without getting out of the car. I guess they were just too lazy to convert it properly.

Yeah believe it or not those are the few places that are Lhd, the rest the world is actually rhd, some don’t have a preference on driving etiquette haha, but most of the cars on the road are going to be a lhd. And no worries asking questions and receiving answers is the best way to learn and grow. Over here in the states we try and have a rhd vehicle. Why it’s a look and some cars it feels natural. I’d love a few cars from your area but ordering parts would be a disaster on a budget lol
