I have been working on the M103 for many years never thought about the slot on the water pump. I was doing all kind of evil things to hold the pulley.

Thanks mans This video really helps me This is the M103.9?? My 2.6, M103.942 its KAT too (with 4G-Tronic), but Now I have a M103.980 from a '89 300CE (5 speed manual) swapped because the stock engine had a little problems, and for not to Open the engine and because in Portugal nobody nows about this engines, my dad just decided to swap the engine Now, with 17, I'm really close from 18, for drive my "2.6" and I really really want to rebuild the engine, because it was a little Faster than 3.0, with better sound, in my opinion, and all this with less weight. 🚗😉

All The M130 Tear Downs Are Pretty Close To Being The Same. The only Difference From The 2.6 & 3.0 Is The Bore Size & The Cylinder Head.

Great info. Im gonna be starting a restoration on an 86 300e very soon with the same m103 engine. For a german car, these engines are quite simple. Thanks for the info!
