I actually drove one myself i mean steered as a passenger at MEOR in Belgium they do original Mercedes certified restorations on old S600 models etc. It really was an experience to never forget! Glad i could erase it from my list of cars i always wanted to drive and see running in my life.

Benz and Daimler both built the gas combustion cars in the 1880s. If I recall Carl Ben's girlfriend drove the first car 60 miles. They didn't have gasoline back then so I think they used medical liquids.

Josh Bacon old cars usually sucked at horsepower but always made amazing low end torque and plenty of it some 60's 4 cylinders made massive torque at 2k rpm but a measly 60 or somewhat horsepower they were made to move heavy station wagon and others some trucks with payload

Hurra,der in der Fachliteratur als nicht mehr existent beschriebene Benz-Patentwagen No 1 ist wieder da! Im Deutschen Museum steht die No 2, die zunächst vierrädrig gebaut, 1903 aber wieder auf 3 Räder umgerüstet wurde, um das älteste Auto in Deutschland ausstellen zu können! No 3 war das erste Auto,das Benz zum Kauf angeboten hat,Verbleib unbekannt.

Nr 3 war das Gefährt mit dem Berta ihre Eltern besuchte. Es wird immer wieder (fälschlich) behauptet, sie habe es in Nr. 1 getan. Die dünnen Hochradräder waren wohl doch nichts für die damaligen Landstraßen, so bekam #3 wieder Holzräder, auch wenn die weniger elegant aussahen. Nr 3 lebt übrigens!! Das Ding gehört zum Bestand des Science Museums in London.
