Thats a common misconseption. Mgk switched genre because he messed up his best shot for fame after the beef when everybody was noticing him by releasing one of the worst rap projects of 2018 to cash in with the hype. This made people lose all interest in him as a rapper that even when he dropped Hotel Diablo people didn't bothered paying attention to him. So it was either doing something entirely new or get dropped out. It less of him running way from eminem then it was him desperately getting people to notice him again after flopping hard because of his own fuck up.
