Regardless of the type of psych med, i wish i knew about symptom based taper earlier. But now I know, when im ready too taper my med in the future i will do a symptom based taper. Thank you for this video.
I've been watching your videos and have to say, they are incredibly helpful!! Thank you for taking the time to put your story out there! I wonder if you might be able to advise me in my situation? I am currently taking only .25mg of Ativan nightly. It doesn't really work at all and I had NO idea about it being short acting and realize now that I have been suffering daily with withdrawals for probably years! I started with .5mg 15yrs ago and now for years I have been breaking these in half. My Doctor has wanted me to change to Valium and I, in my lack of understanding have always resisted. He never explained why, like you have done in your videos about crossover. I have felt unstable for a long time! Seeing as I want to taper, he has suggested that I stay at .25mg and do not take it one night a week for a month, tgen 2 nights for a month etc. Now I am wondering if doing a crossover would be best and get stabilized first. Would you have any suggestions?
I didn’t. I was started on the smallest dose, but I had to slowly increase because I needed more for the same effect. I knew nothing about Benzo‘s back then.
Thank you for your new video! Could you tell us sth about your updose? I came from 150 mg to 10 mg too fast. My doc wants me to updose to 30 mg to stabilize but I dont know if that would help because its not a lot. Whats your opinion?
Yes. I took 150 mg and went down to 10 in one week!! Didn't know Valium could take weeks to hit hard, I was in tolerance and there was a lot in my system After 5 years. After that every week one mg to 4 mg. Updosed to 10 mg. Weeks in hell. Updosed to 30 mg one week ago. Still not good. The Vertigo is 24/7. I really feel stucked and like I ruined myself totally. Had a CT from Zoloft and Chlorprothixen two weeks before beginning my "taper". No one told me not to. Don't know which symptoms come from what. I just want my life back.
@@salomerummel6920Way too fast!!!! If I was in your position, I would go to a higher dose to where you feel stable and good and then from there hold for a short time and when you feel better, start a slow taper.
@@salomerummel6920 How long ago did you make that big big cut? If it was not that long ago, I would get back up to a much higher dose and start to slowly chip away at it.
