On August 15, 2023 Benzo Warrior Community was pleased to welcome Angela Peacock, MSW to our Zoom Roundtable series. Angie has more experience than most in the prescribed harm community and is an inspiration to all of us in how she has rebuilt her own life. You may know her from her role in the documentary Medicating Normal, or from the many interviews she has done on all aspects of recovering from psychiatric medication.
Angela Peacock, MSW served in the U.S. Army for seven years as a communications specialist with one deployment to Iraq. After a series of traumas, she was prescribed over 40 medications for the treatment of her “disorders.” She eventually discontinued all medications, let go of her identity as a patient, regained most of her health and rebuilt an amazing life. Angie’s story of withdrawal and recovery appears in the new film Medicating Normal (2020). After the film was released, she led the outreach effort engaging over 180 audiences during community screenings and/or panel discussions all over the world. Angie now serves as a psychiatric drug withdrawal consultant and healing coach. She provides education and support to individuals, families and organizations interested in harm reduction, and the healing from and deprescribing of psychiatric drugs. Some of her past roles in the community include board member with World Benzodiazepine Awareness Day, veteran liaison with Benzodiazepine Information Coalition, team member at the Inner Compass Initiative and Outreach for Medicating Normal - the film.

Are there any official or non-official statistics relating to benzo withdrawal? No doubt the medical authorities and BigPharma would want to suppress this information, but these problems do at least seem to be widespread.

They gave me an albuterol inhaler for my air hunger too. It’s been years now benzo free. I haven’t touched it.

Hi @@rameshlumb4003. I am well today. I have been 5&1/2 years free now and feeling very good. I have some minor weird things that still come and go but I really do feel good. Better than ever in a lot of ways.

Does anyone know why I am having insane insomnia while holding my taper ? I am holding for a break as I had a terrible 2023 tapering "slowly" and "safely". Now on holding for abt 3 months, the insomnia is insane, as insane as it used to be after each time I made a reduction. Its terrible. Is this normal ?

I ask my pharmacist advice on how to taper slow to see what he say. Since I’m on 225 mg and he suggested I go down to 187. something. I told him no you got to do it slow n I told him I’m taking bead tiny ones and kind of was freaking saying no don’t to that . I said to him what happen I have proof he said it doesn’t matter, u ask for my advice so I’m giving u it . Jesus
