For a bit of clarity for the ‘high speed’ variation. You can get non HS 120mm and a HS version of 140. Supposedly the HS is designed for radiator/tower/etc use and the non-hs is designed to be standard chassis fans (yes, I know this video is old, but i figured i’d share this anyways since it isn’t made clear even on the packaging)

I'm in the process of ordering components, and have settled on trying out the regular PWM Silent Wing 4 for the quietest rig possible (my case will have dust filters, but no radiators). I have no knowledge about building PCs (had tons of help), but I figured that with fans, I can use temperature monitoring software to see how well they perform. With your comment, I'm even more confident with this decision!

I've been using the Silent Wings 3 for a year and a half now, and they're just awesome. I don't care about RGB (hell, I specifically went out of my way for a non-rgb build), and my tower is tucked away in a corner obscured by a monitor, so I don't see any orange labels either. But I'm glad the option is there now for those who want it, because from a pure performance perspective, these are worth having, so not having lack of RGB holding anyone back is great.

Too noisy for me. Swapped them for Noctua A12x25s for great results. Noctua mounting is also way better. With beQuiet you have flimsy, easy to break, plastic lock that holds swappable mounting pads in place. With Noctua there’s no swapping, no chance to render fan useless due to tiny plastic piece getting hurled off somewhere; instead, you get silicone plugs to use through regular screw holes. Chances are, those would make silent wings quieter too.

I absolutely love the Slient Wings fans in my system. At full load they sound like a gentle ocean breeze type thing and they're actually quite nice to listen to, and when the system is idling they hardly make any noise at all. Glad they're finally making their way into the RGB space even though I wouldn't pick up any RGB fans for my current build. I do wish they had RGB on their Pure Loop AIO series so I could match it to the rest of my purple/black color scheme, but having that white accent ring on the CPU block and a few other white accents around the case and on my desk it actually looks quite nice.

Agree - I have a top-mounted 14cm high-speed (2000RPM) as an exhaust and even at 1200+PRM all I hear is a rather soothing sound of rushing air. In my last system I had two front-mounted 12cm, the same. They defintely give Noctua a serious run for their (our) money.

I agree to a point about the be quiet logo being in orange. Yes the colour may limit you customer base due to the scheme the user wants, but there is still something to be said about brand recognition. It is similar to the noctua brown issue, where it goes with almost nothing, but everyone can look at it and know exactly what brand you are repping. Sure now noctua is doing all black, but their brown still sells a lot - hell they even got an Asus 3070 out.

It's incredibly important to me!! Keep fan reviews coming because those folks hopefully read-in on things like this and take feedback. I have an issue with the sticker as well. BeQuiet needs to apply some of that to the color scheme 😋. I think they should make the stickers chrome to stay color neutral while reserving brand identity and keeping the item premium. If they and other brands can find a way, like Lian Li with the SL 120s that im rocking, to further minimize cables, that would be even better!!

I'm normally an RGB fan, but my CPU fan died a while back and fell in love with the sleek look of their black Pure Rock 2. I installed it and have been pleased with how quiet it is even at full blast. I've often wondered how an RGB version would look, but was afraid to know because it would be very easy to ruin their sleek appeal. Seeing these, I'm 50/50 and quite literally so. The front ring looks almost gaudy with how large it it's and how it contrasts so much with the otherwise blackout design. The back, though, magnifique! Now that's how you accent a blackout design with some color. If they had that kind of minimalist light ring on both sides, Christmas would be coming early for me.

less is more. All my minimalist brothas would agree that seeing a very thin line of rgb is much sexier than thick, excessive lighting. Be Quiet nailed it.

I bought six (3 intake, 3 exhaust) beQuiet Silent Wings 3 High-Speed PWM 120s for my build last year and have been in love ever since. They really are the perfect balance of performance and silence.

i personally prefer performance to noise in the case of a fan’s capabilities nothing makes flight sims more realistic than it sounding like there’s an actual plane in your pc these be quiet fans look and perform great however i’ve already installed a vetroo cpu cooler and fans based on previous videos and recommendations from Mr.Jay and was not disappointed with the low temps i was getting after so thank you for the cool vids

I hope you don't get into something like Kingdom Come: Deliverance then. I didn't have a custom loop when I played and hearing a jet while riding a horse through a forest in the 15th century isn't great for immersion.

I don't mind a little noise, most of the time I have headphones on and the like but too much noise (even if it gives great performance) is unappealing. So totally on the fence between silence and performance.

i was moderately excited for these, but then i saw that beQuiet used a cheap rifle bearing that seems to be significantly inferior to even their own Silent Wings fans, based on their advertised lifespan
@jsteezus
@jsteezus 2 года назад
Rifle bearing is a deal breaker for me. And the performance is going to be just ever so slightly lower as they sacrifice a couple mm of fan blade length to fit the rgb light loop.

I haven't actually been excited by new fans in a while. I have my NZXT Aer RGB 2 fans and love them. But these Be Quiet fans are pretty great looking. I actually hate the fact that a lot of LED fans where the lights run around the circumference of the housing are completely one-sided(literally). These are great in any spot and they look fairly low profile too.

When I was deciding on what fans to put in, I went for the Noctua fans because of their great performance and noise levels. I don't mind their colors, they look cool to me. But these fans seem to have similar performance and noise levels and they have RGB, so I would definitely consider them if I was building a PC now. They look really cool :)

Nice walkthrough. For myself RGB is something I try to avoid in my computer for two reasons. I don't like the blinky lights and second I don't want to pay for something that I will not see (my computer is on the other side of the wall so that I don't need to see or hear it). Also the quieter the fan is the better for my tastes, it of course still needs to fulfill it's function but after that it is the most silent one that gets my purchase.Price is only an option if the manufacturer wants ridiculous money for it (for comparison Noctua prices are OK )

I do love your channel, man, and I'm thankful to you for all of the videos you did that helped me get confident enough to build my first custom loop, but surely a test of these fans versus even just one type of fan would help us understand whether or not these are worth looking into?

Jay i just wanna say, even if you're late to some things i still think its very worth that you review or look at it if you want to! Theres tons of people myself included that dont go looking for this sort of thing but would love to see it and you might be the only person that we follow that even reviews it! Doesn't matter to me if you're late, at least now i know what fans i want to get on my next build!

I've been using BeQuiet! Silent Wings 3 fans for THREE years strong now with no issues with noise or temperature (even with overclocking). Still absoulely silent with no bearing rubbing sounds or flutter faultering. I stand by this company and will be recommending their products as I have for 3 years. They go perfectly with my blacked out finish that I was going for and to have the sound pretty much absent adds to the aesthetic. If you have a jet engine sitting beside you... PLEASE give these fans a try. You're experience will thank you.

On BeQuiet's website, they list the Static Pressure of the 120 PWM as having 1.66 mm H20 at 20.6 dB and the 120/140 PWM High-Speed list 2.6/2.3 mm H2O at 31 dB.
