Beretta 486 Parallelo Pistol Grip 

Just ordered one, can`t wait to get my hands on it.......

I think these pistol grip 486’s are beautiful modern interpretations of the side by side. Would love to own one

Buying a brand new one tomorrow morning actually and I can’t sleep it’s Beretta 471 Silver Hawk 20 Gauge 28” English Stock and I can’t wait to bring it home I was going for the new Paralello 486 12 Gauge but I found this one and I fell in love with it I just couldn’t believe it my dealer Gad it for sale and it was the last one brand new cases and unfired In 12 months time will get the the 486 Paralello also English Stock in 12 Gauge but 30” Barrel as the 20 Gauge only comes with 26” and 28” barrels Shooting game with 20 Gauge will be a pleasure I heard

This gun has something that a lot of modern guns don't imo, I went for the straight grip/splinter version in 12ga 28inch and should be receiving it soon though I don't think you can go wrong with either configuration. For the asking price I don't believe you can do any better in this category, the fabarm classis is not on the same level at all tbh though it is cheaper. Thanks for the look, nice choice of music too.

Great review, always thorough and you go through all the features quite well. If you ever get in a Fabarm Classis I'd like to see a review on one of those as well.

Believe it or not Mossberg’s Silver Reserve 2 O/Us also have that “won’t fire upside down” safety feature.

The only reason I can think of for the design is if you had the gun loaded in a row boat resting in your lap upside down while rowing. I'm use to hunting with the safety on and flicking it off as I pull the gun up but I guess if you were rowing it could be easy to push the safety off and you wouldn't even know.

The non firing upside down safety feature is probably due to the fact that when a sxs falls on the ground trigger upper most it is more likely to close and could fire, where as an o/u will not. makes sense really.

I held one the other week. It was okay, but quite expensive. To be honest the Fabarm Classis 12 felt better and I shot it quite well. And the Fabarm Classis 20 with the pistol grip felt the best overall. I'd be interested in your thoughts comparing the two.

I can see it’s a safety in some situations but I don’t like that it doesn’t fire upside down or on the side, common sense at the end of the day.

Totally of subject but what is the name of the piece of music in the review. Suits the gun very well.

I feel like I should buy an over-under because they're supposedly better. But I just don't seem to get as excited about over-unders as I do side-by-sides. I've had my eye on this gun for the last year and a half and it is a thing of beauty and gets my blood pumping still when I think about owning one. We'll see how I feel a year from now.. I really love love LOVE this gun. But I probably SHOULD get an over-under...because it's better..right?

That gun has been defaced! That said, they managed to contain the detracting features within one shotgun. Quite savvy, that they grouped the brash "pistol grip" along side the toboggan-like fore-stock. Finally, they gouged the barrels then inserted chokes...EGADS!!! I can recreate this same gun in my mind - essentially turning a frog into a princess - simply by ordering a straight stock, sliver fore-end, and fixed chokes. There is a reason why Beretta retains these features however, in an effort to attract a wider market, they added those restrictions. I believe you can even elevate it to the next level by selecting extractors over ejectors. SUPER idea! Someone was thinking!! It's a wee bit heavy as game guns go, isn't it?

Have you done a my go to guns video John? Do you use different shotguns for clays and hunting? One rifle for all rifle hunting or specialized ones? guess you can "borrow" and test plenty of guns from the shop...

I think the safety feature of it not firing upside down or on its side, is it someone has it over their shoulder, finger on trigger and safety off, obviously shouldn't be done, but I'm sure it could slip someone's mind after a few sloe gins at lunch, whilst not useful to everyone, I'm sure the odd picker up or hack gun could be grateful for the feature, especially if the gun in front had imbibed a little too much falling over juice at lunch 😄, it confused me a little trying to not point the muzzles at anyone pointing it straight down at the ground whilst firing off the triggers on to snap caps a while ago before I worked out what the issue was 😄

Please make the gun fire up side down, in a bear emergency it could save you a lot of pain and grief.
